our hatred for tu is still strong.
we'll always hate them.
many of the threads on TA are dealing with our hate of or ridicule of the sips.
yet most (on here at least) claim they never want to play them again (I'm not one of them, I hate them, but it's a true to the bone rivalry, one of which we no longer have and will take decades to get another)
as fan bases, since we have no outlet for it on the field, we are left with sniping and smart ass comments from forums and social media.
that's pretty sad for a 100 year rivalry.
you'd never see Auburn/Alabama give theirs up.

Just my 2 cents. bring on the hate. but bring back the godd amn games so we can settle this **** on the field.

I am a little perplexed at the hostility toward Chancellor Sharp. Sharp is a dying breed of conservative Democrats and is a very accomplished man. He was in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M, a State Senator, Comptroller of the State of Texas, and now Chancellor appointed by his classmate and Republican Governor Rick Perry.

He is an outstanding political voice for Texas A&M in the legislature and in Washington where research money originates. His goal is for Texas A&M to be a $1 billion research institution which opens the door for much more federal research funding for DOD projects to name one source.

He was instrumental in pushing the Kyle Field redevelopment forward and is a strong supporter of the Corps of Cadets, athletics, undergraduate education, and research. Frankly, I cannot think of three more important qualifications for a Texas A&M Chancellor.

He also has changed the name of about 11 state agencies managed by Texas A&M to include the "Texas A&M" name instead of just "Texas".

I think his remark about alcohol at Kyle Field is funny, appropriate, and timely. He really must be the voice for Texas A&M for the near future because our new President Young has not yet become socialized to the Aggie belief system and way of life.

All three of these things are outside his lane. He's the system chancellor, not the TAMU-College Station president/provost/VP for student affairs

Appropriate for what? Timely for what?

He should not be the voice of Texas A&M. Again, he is not the TAMU-CS president, etc. He shouldn't be a voice at all for any specific TAMU System entity. The new TAMU-CS president is not here to become socialized and doesn't need to be hidden from view until properly brainwashed. The new TAMU-CS president is a grown man, with more university leadership credentials than Sharp, and is here to lead a national university (not make sophomoric jabs at the other flagship university in the state). Sharp needs to learn that his position is in the TAMU System, not the TAMU-College Station campus (and certainly not related to an athletic program at any campus).
