I hope the lowered field fixes that problem seeing as
I will be sitting closer to field level on the east side
than I had originally planned

That being said at least reserving tickets in a similar location
for recruits and families is more justifiable than

Taking 500+ of the best seats in a block and
reserving it for the University President at his discretion
is impossible to justify

You do realize they lowered the field so they could add more rows so the first rows still won't be able to see over the team.

TMF continues to amaze me.

So i learned today and confirmed with the 12th Man Foundation that the new President of Texas A&M has taken rows 27-33 of sections 125 and 126 away from the 12th Man and reserved them for university use - whatever that means.
Update from yesterday. Today I received a phone call from someone in the 12th Man ticket office, yesterday I asked to speak with Skip but he was "in a meeting", the phone call was to discuss the concerns i raised yesterday about the whole process. Today I was told that the university president took seats from section 127 not sections 125 and 126 (apparently that was bad info from an uninformed student worker). The lady today told me the seats in rows 27-33 sections 125 and 126 have never been available to the 12th man and that I was provided with that information via the seating map on 12man.com

This is the 21st year my wife and I have had season tickets, the first 20 years we had no complaints with the 12th man foundation. Unfortunately the way this reseating process has transpired has soured my views of the TMF . I have no complaints of where I pick in terms of priority point ranking (i can change that by donating more $$). But if the TMF had been less deceptive and provided us with all information I may have chosen my seats in a different section, as it stands now I will pay a lot of money for bad seats when I could have paid a lot less money for bad seats somewhere else in the stadium.

Still doesn't change the fact those seats were held for somebody else. If the map is their mode of communication, well, that's par for the course when it comes to communication from the TMF. I was always under the impression those tickets were held by the athletic dept not the prez anyway.

I'm right there with you Zman! The transparency (or lack there of) has been one of the most troubling issues with the 12th Man of late.

Here's the 3D Kyle Field link and it looks like sections have been updated.

http://www.seats3d.com/ncaa/texas_am/football/2015/#/p_lc5_2/level_2/

Faculty Staff are set for corner sections 114 and 134 and east side section 127.

University Officials are set for rows 27-33 in east side sections 125 and 126.

While the process has been far from perfect, I try and remain focused on what a monumental task this has been for all involved.

Is there an interactive seating chart showing what percentage of seats are still available by section? If so, I haven't been able to locate it.

You can't see that until the preview period before your appointment.

Really, I'm looking at the seating map on the Kyle Field website, and I can't tell that rows are excluded from selection. Where else was this information made known?

edit: I see a link above. Sorry, I was referencing the map we had when making selection decision. My mistake!

That is wrong information about rows 27 and higher not being available to TMF. I've had seats on row 26 in section 126 since 1997 and seats in row 29 since 2010. I also have friends sitting above me that have TMF tickets.

But, I know that the top 4-5 rows before the remodel, rows 35-40 or so, were for faculty/staff.

I meant that during the reseating process of Kyle Field those seats have not been available according to the TMF. I sat in that section on row 32 from 1996-2014.

Emilio Fantastico,

You are wrong about the front row not being able to see over the players.
the new front row will be several feet higher than the old front row..

I don't think I will have trouble seeing over the players when I pick on May 19

I haven't pulled up the link above (Can't on iPad), but I think this post is leading to some confusion. Unless the section numbers for zone and east side have changed since last season, the comments above are incorrect.

25,26,27 are East Prime Bench.
125,126,127 are North Zone.

After reading all this, are the University Officials sitting on the east side, or in the zone? If on the east side, it will be interesting to see what happens with the traditional standers there. My prediction is that there will be lots of complaints from those in the top rows, and eventually it will be a "seated" section like the west side. Which will be sad.

Edit: looking back, the confusion started with the OP. Thread title is East Prime, but post discusses North Zone sections.

The sections were renumbered for 2015, so it is the East Side, not the NEZ. 127 is from the 5 to the 35 and is 100% faculty and staff. Sections 125 and 126 are the 2 center sections on the East and Rows 27-33 are for University Officials.

Ok sorry for the confusion. You linked the map that I am not able to pull up on iPad. Weird that they would change all the signage for that area again. After changing it all last year.

It's disappointing we can't preview the available seat map before our appointments. That was super helpful during the previous selection when we picked our sections.

Maybe they don't want us LOLpoors to see how many extra seats are being picked up in our sections by the BMA's.

It appears that the original interactive seating map (still available online) clearly implies that all of the East side Bench would be sold to purchasers - all the way up to the suite level. The map can be seen online here:

The view on the 3d map makes the 26-33 section look foreshortened so that the actual (quite large -8/33 rows) appears to be quite small.

Very poor form and seems disingenuous at worst and tacked-on and poorly thought out at best. Is there another solution? Is there a class-action suit for this one?

THIS is the problem.

I'm not interested in *****ing about it in person to the TMF and making a big stink, but I'm not happy about it either. I'm sure there will be others, though, who are less laid back than me and will call someone on the carpet about it.

The TMF has made this entire re-seating a business proposition and dictated the terms and conditions under which people made their decisions over a year ago. It has now become a moving target. It's like offering you the right to buy one of a dozen eggs, then later saying "No, we changed the deal, now there are only 9 eggs to choose from". That's bad business, plain and simple.

FYI, SEZ 2nd deck, southwest corner section 246 has been shown to be faculty and staff since the first map that was sent out prior to the selection of seat area last year. I initially also thought that was new, but I went back and reviewed the literature that we previously received.

That's tens of millions left on the table, to give these to faculty/staff rather than donors. I would also guess they won't be standing.

I emailed the TMF about that SEZ 2nd deck faculty section and they confirmed that southwest section was disclosed to us previously. Selfishly, I think paying donors should have had access to that whole 2nd deck section over faculty but I get it.

They apparently got to pick their section ahead of the reseating.

Now the 3D map just says "call for info" for each of the sections on the E side bench.

OK I'll give some facts here.

I supposedly was picking in the top 10% in this section last week (Friday 3:05pm appointment time) thinking the equivalent of 3 rows out of 33 would be taken given my selection spot. When I went to select, all top 11 rows were gone and in total, the equivalent of 13+ of the 33 rows were gone. I am very disappointed and will be talking directly to Regents about this.

I called the TMF during my appointment to ask why more than 3 rows had been selected before my turn and the person escalated my call to "Jordan" who said "The System" picked these seats for the first time very recently. He said within the last 60 days. He also confirmed it was never communicated to the TMF members at the time we made enormous financial investments in the sections. My issue is simply that they should have said it was reserved like they did for the Lettermen, for Faculty, etc. You don't sell someone on paying early donations, getting higher donations, and prioritizing seat selections while communicating the % you will be picking then change the % after you've committed and paid your money. It's basically lying and not honoring what you committed to in order to get someone to pick. It's some combination of lying, cheating, and stealing. I'm taught as an Aggie not to tolerate this so I'm going to talk to at least one regent about it personally.

Jordan agreed it was not right and said he had no defense other than to explain what the situation was for me. So all those seats are gone and it trickles down to everyone in the section. It's unbelievable not to communicate this. They also didn't communicate we wouldn't have access to H reserved if we were not Endowed members. Without getting into details, let's say I've donated more than an "Endowed" donor and can't believe I have no access to that parking. Both of these came as surprises at the time I selected and both people at the TMF confirmed it was nowhere in the extensive documentation. So, here is what you get for being in the top 8% of donors and being told you would be in the top 12% selecting in this section last week. I hope there are no further surprises in other sections...

And people wonder why some endowed donors might be sueing. At least they have contract as a basis while the rest of us do not.

I think they did this to the East side because they knew the Lawyers are all seated in other, pricier sections. Is there not an argument to be made that the original map (which looked to show all of the East side Bench between the 30's as purchasable in this section) as constituting an offer. I love my school and will support my team but this feels like a bait and switch.

Baron, did anyone ever tell you exactly how many rows were not avilable to the 12th Man? I was told by Skip Wagner's secretary that rows 27-33 were unavailable, Sylvia in the 12th Man Ticket office told me the same, but it seems like that is inaccurate.

I have confirmed this myself. Rows 23-33 are now all reserved for "University Use." If you look at the interactive map now that it is back up, you will notice that those rows have changed in description to reflect that status. Previously only rows 28-33 were marked that they were reserved.
