I think they misunderstood. He actually said "it's highly unlikely I'll ever fit in a stadium again".
That's a shame since he has a decided schematic advantage against his opponents.
He gets paid too much money NOT to coach.

Weis has made quite a career out of getting fired. Has been very profitable for him. Last I heard he had banked over 12 mill from getting fired.

He has bigger problems to worry about than coaching, like how to book every day of the rest of his life spending ALL of that money he's getting paid on two contracts where he performed SOOOO poorly. He has enough to book up the next 30 years solid with hookers, blo, and Viagra sun up to sun down. Way to fail Charlie, way to fail.

Saying he will never coach again almost implies he has coached in the past. He's taken up lots of space on the sideline but not sure how much coaching actually occurred.

Sat one row behind Charlie at church in South Bend a week after Christmas. Honestly, he looks like he's lost quite bit of weight. He didn't even stick out as being that fat. Had to do a double take to make sure it was him.
Rumor has it he's now starring in a sitcom on CBS. I think it's called Mike and Molly or something like that.
I never saw much coaching out of him. So continue the status quo Charlie.

Charlie Weis's coaching career is a classic case of the Peter Principle.
He is a good/great OC, but his level of incompetence is reached as a Head Coach
If he could change that to, "I highly doubt I will ever eat again," he might be on to something.
I assume this was his response when being told there are all-you-can-eat restaurants.

It is highly doubtful he has "coached" at his recent coaching stops. He should kiss the ground that Tom Brady walks on or he would still be grinding as a low level NFL position coach.
