I don't know. Two of the prognosticators, on the morning he announced, said he would choose Alabama initially but flip to A&M. A lot depends on how close he is with his family and how much family matters influence his decision.

I would give it a 1.5 on a 10 point scale, which is somewhat close to a 15% chance.
Another poster said that including him, there would be 24 players on the Tide competing for the same spots. And Bama doesn't recruit slouches so his odds of playing time anytime soon have to be low.
AggieRojo seemed to like our chances, that is good enough for me.
I'd say high to very high. Not quite a sure thing, but about as close as possible.
Could see it happening.. wanting to stay close to his family. Really hope it does happen.

but Bama does have a very loaded depth chart at CB and Sheffield has some fine tuning to do at the position. its gona be 2 yrs minimum before he gets on the field for them.

This is dying way to fast. I'm like 10/10 sure, which is 100%, that this went down the drain when it ended up on the back of a t-shirt.
Zero. Saban was developing a relationship with the kid weekly and we sent underlings. There is no world where this ends up with Sheffield at A&M.
If he doesn't flip, he'll be asking for a transfer in a year or two. Watch.

I agree that Saban schooled Sumlin hard on Sheffield. Lesson to Sumlin: If you're high on a recruit, you better start Skyping him weekly. The Swagcopter only takes you so far.

Sounds like we tried to recover it with track, but was a bit late. With that said, there's only 1 recruit left that really matters.

AB- curious, how do you know this? Are all of Coach Sumlin 's & Coach Saban's communications and recruiting techniques publicized? Do we know what each did so we know how we got schooled?
The answer is NO. But a LOT of folks like to pretend they know more than they really do.
We know Saban and Sheffield were Skyping weekly at a time when the conventional wisdom (due to Sheffield wearing A&M gear) was that Sheffield was going to be an Ag.
Granted, Sheffield didn't talk much so that was somewhat of an assumption. I'll tell you one thing, Sumlin no doubt feels that he got played.

I get that there is a lot of competition at Bama, but even their one year starters that produce get drafted high. Also he may be one of those ultra competitive guys that wants to show everyone that he is the best of the bunch.

You're right. I think that was cause for the optimism on the flip. Seems like that optimism has faded though.
Bottom line: If our D had functioned half way decent last year, we would probably have Malik, Mack and maybe Sheffield. However, I would trade all three for Chavis. Moore could end up better than Jefferson, and I think we still have a shot at Mack. Hopefully Sheffield too.
