This is an interesting discussion. Who decides that it's okay for Johnny to go throw footballs in the ocean during the off-season? Didn't he already have a QB coach at A&M? When you have a dad who played at a high level and coaches the position, it would be easy to see having conflicts with the head coach/QB coach. This happens to 12 year olds all the time when there's nothing riding on it. Do you try to change the armslot on a guy who's 43-0, or do you just let "Vince be Vince" or "Tebow be Tebow"?

If his armslot needs changing, then yeah. As awesome as Allen's 43-0 run was (is), and as impressive as it was to go back-to-back-to-back at the highest level in the state, none of that means jack **** at the college level for Murray. Everybody says he's got the tools, and I sure do hope he's an Aggie soon, but let's not put him in the same category as Young or Tebow or Manziel just yet; he hasn't even taken a college snap yet.

Frankly, if the big issue is redshirting (I would assume the Murrays want one to put distance between Kyler and Kyle), then it would be easy enough to ensure it (we can pick up a decent JUCO or preferred walkon at this time) to be a backup and just say it doesn't come off until we are looking at connor mcqueen time.

Frankly, in the case of RS Kyler, I would agree with the idea. I think if he goes to austin and starts day one, he will be injured, especially if they are going the urban meyer TE as a QB battering ram route with the offense.
