Apparently Sumlin, Chavis, and Pat Henry were all in home with Kendall Sheffield last night.

I think this is a great effort by Sumlin to utilize the multiple national championship winning T&F coach to talk with Sheffield and his family before making a final decision.

Talked with a couple of people in the know, and the word I got was that Sheffield still remains committed to Alabama. However, if he allowed an in-home visit by the A&M staff this close to signing day, anything can happen.

Right now, all sources say he is committed to Bama. But that could change over the next week. I've been told not be surprised if it does change. That being said, this is recruiting, so I wouldn't be shocked if he keeps his commitment to Saban and the Tide either.

Do you mean that some recruits still have integrity and their commitment means something?

These are the kinds of good news type reports that we need more of around here. Everyone wants to yell at the sky and claim it's falling, yet it's still there while they keep yelling at it. KM hasn't gone anywhere just yet, and we're still in talking to the biggest recruits left out there, just a few days before signing day.

I'd give this a 5% chance of happening. He is definitely not the type to flip. But the good part is that we now at least have the pull to grab these guys attention.

Yeah, I agree. I'm sure he was just doing Sumlin, Chavis, and Henry a favor by letting them come over to his house a week before signing day. He's not the type to flip. It sure was nice of him to have them all over for dinner, though. Class act.

He was considered to be an Aggie lean before he committed to Bama.

With the Chavis hire, I could see him flipping.

Is this a sign of what to expect from a Chavis defense, or a matter of taking the best players available.

Having CBs that are 6'+ and 180+ are close to what you'd expect from a Safety. Dunning is about the size of an OLB. You get tremendous speed and flexiblity. The idea of blitz a CB or S, or bringing them up to cover the run is going to be fun to watch.

We need press cover CBs, if they do not feel we have them on campus now they are recruiting the best ones to fill the gap. Stats say half of them are not going to pan out so we will take what we can get. Same as LBs since we have a decent front 4. DEs cause havoc, DT plug the gaps, LBs fly to the football, and CBs press their guys. Makes the offense get out of rhythm and tires out the OL. Unlike our old defense the new one is all about speed and quickness.

Saban knows how to close. This one is over unless the parents get involved.
