Is it possible to participate in at least some of spring football while playing college baseball?

Seems like if a kid was good enough to play 2-sports at the collegiate level - and make the team, the school would let him - right? Why not?

It's been done here a lot in the past, but both coaches have to have an understanding. Yale Lary did it, Bob Long did it and Dave Elmendorf. Long and Elmendorf were All-Americans.

The most recent player for us that I know about was Greg Porter. I only know this because I played HS baseball with him.

There's far more pressure today to focus on one sport. Coaches don't like sharing unless they absolutely have to.

I'm not sure many people pay attention to our football players that also play baseball, and the only reason I did is that I played with him so go F yourself.

Jordan Chambless actually did both. He came in the fall of '04. On the football team and ended up being the closer for the baseball team for a while. I know he was doing both spring practice and playing baseball. Said it was tough to do.
