Sounds like your average business seeking a startup mentality with experienced generalists.

The only time I've ever heard of something like that was with the Cowboys:
Scott Linehan: Passing Game Coordinator
Seemed odd then, seems odd now. I think it gives Christensen an extra title so that they can pay him more. I think he may also get to manage the running play designs and their blocking schemes.
And you'll need to learn to spell his name correctly.

Still looks like 2 guys doing the job of 1 man...
If not, why wouldn't everyone have a "run coordinator"?

I think you are underestimating the number of teams that do have run/pass coordinators.
quote:That's a pretty good list.
these schools all have either (1) co-coordinators on offense or (2) a coordinator of the passing or running game (number is committee rankings)
2-Oregon
3-FSU
4-tOSU
5-Baylor
6-TCU
7-Miss. State
8-Mich. State
9-Ole Miss
10-Arizona
11-KSU
13-Georgia
14-UCLA
15-Arizona State
Its a fairly common thing these days.

This was a very solid move by Sumlin. Our offense needed to be tweaked, not blown up. This was a great move. Think of it as adding a Mid Management role to your company. Takes a load off the VP and helps organize the plan better. This is all positive and really smart.

Our first scoring drive against LSU was running vertical, and Trey broke one up the middle for the score. Inexplicably we then changed to wide runs and horizontal pass plays, against a defense whose talent and alignment were tailer made to stop wide plays. We did not change our attack until too late in the game. It was beyond stupid. Hopefully Christensen can change this.

tailer made

It doesn't matter who has the ball, if the Oline can't block effectively. They finally made a hole, Trey hit it and scored. It's not rocket surgery.
