Well we would have something in common. We don't know what to do with a 4 or 5 star player.

If reports have been correct, Sumlin has only gone after well respected DCs who are in solid programs.
They already make pretty good money.

1. Why leave the comfort of what they know that they have?
2. It appears several have used A&M to get a nice raise at their current schools.
3. Maybe they also realize that if Sumlin doesn't start producing soon (next 2 years) he and his staff are likely out of here. Not only has the A&M defense been poor, Sumlin has not proved he can win consistently without Manziel.

Edit Nevermind just looked at 2014 numbers. TOP was about 3.5 minutes below the average for SEC

Hiring Gibbs means we swung and missed on EVERY option. Just like many of us applied to Coogar High in case every single other University we applied to ended up in a swing and miss. Don't kid yourself, a Gibb's hire means BAS is real and not a condition. Now if Gibb's is part of something "innovative" then it means we took a shot at Boom knowing he would go fast, with Plan A in the works. Then we had a big fish defensive minded coach flirt with us putting Plan A on hold.

Come on guys, its kinda like you have the sure thing, kinda cute a little fat, ready to take you home and in comes Kate Upton, for old Ags - Audrey Hepburn, and she starts flirting with you like you have a shot. What would would any straight man do?

Gibbs actually has a pretty good resume- If we had made that hire at the beginning it would not have been a bad move (although people would have started launching why did we rush this bombs). The problem it now looks like we couldn't get anybody we wanted so had to settle on Gibbs- which I supposed would be true.

So why doesn't Miles' offense scare off DCs? A DC has to know that he can only allow 17 points or less or he loses if he coaches for Miles. Hell, LSU only scored 23 points total in the 3 games combined prior to facing one of the worst DCs in the country (Sny_er). They averaged less than 8 points per game! So if a DC gives up more than one TD, he loses! Show me where Sumlin's offense has put up less then 23 points in a 3 game stretch at A&M. Only once in his 3 years here has his team ever scored less than 72 points during a 3 game stretch (we scored 41). So a DC pretty much knows if he holds the opponent to 20 or less he wins.

Why would we hire someone who doesn't stay in a job for more than a couple of years? It takes at least 4 to build a good defense.....at least according to Texags.
