It said his family wants Texas, he is undecided. He thinks A&M has way more potential, but JUST NEEDS SOME ASSURANCE FROM KDS. texas seems to be the compromise in light of no information from us.

My vote is give him some assurance. Even if it is Larry from accounting as DC. He just wants to know who it is and that Sumlin trusts him enough and cares about the relationship enough to tell him. Kirk liked that Sumlin was hands off. I think Malik wanted a phonecall last night.

I honestly don't think with his mom being ill that he'll leave for California.

Maybe Malik needs to trust Sumlin. Chances are, in this day and age, no matter where he goes, he's looking at changing DC's at least once during his college career. As a player, he has zero input into those decisions. Sumlin understands how important this hire is so I think Malik (and everyone else for that matter) should sit back and trust the guy getting paid $5 mil/year.

The entirety of ESPN is a Texas fluff piece.

While I view it through the ESiPN prism, a lot of that article was directly quoting Malik. So there is a lot of reason for concern considering those are his words for a lot of it.

The rest is trying to cast doubt and sway towards texas, and I see that.

Had we not been screwing the proverbial defensive pooch for two years, trusting Sumlin would not be an issue. Coordinators move around all the time.

I don't blame Malik for wanting to know our direction. However in the end, it's all a crap shoot. He goes somewhere else and HC/DC changes happen 10 minutes after he arrives.

Come on Sumlin, find us a quality DC.

What do you mean if Sumlin effs this up? I would love to have this young man and I absolutely support his decision making process. Sounds like he's being pretty smart about it. But with all due respect, a recruit does not dictate the process, and if we get a top DC in the end and lose Malik over it, it is the right decision.

Tomorrow he will yessir. So I guess that gives the trolls 24 more hours to keep stirring the pot here.

I don't care if he waits until the day before spring practice to hire a DC. But Malik does. Mack cares where Malik goes. And a lot of our commits care where Mack goes. Sumlin fired Snyder 3 weeks ago. He's known Muschamp was off the table for a week and half. You'd think he would have had an idea on who to hire before he even let go of snyder. With all the time he's had and all that's on the line, he's absolutely dragging ass. And I'm one of the biggest Sumlin groupies on the board.
