So hardly zero talk of bowl game on this board. Understandably so not many Ags real fired up about liberty bowl.
But for those going any suggestions on some can't miss BBQ joints in Memphis?

I came across a Leonard's BBQ that was on travel channel. Any others?

Lots of good places. Stay away from Central Bbq, don't know how they keep making top BBQ lists.
Go to germantown comissary for the best coconut pie you'll ever have. They all have same Eckrich/Hillshire Bologna type sausage. Corkys had pretty decent ribs. Did not get to go to Rendezvous, went to see Australian Elvis impersonator. Sometimes you choose wisely, sometimes you don't .

The BBQ shop, Cozy Corner. Rendezvous is meh.

Yeah, didn't much like Central Barbque. For nonbarbque try shrimp at The Flying Fish.
Ribs at Rendevous were great but locals consider it a tourist trap.

Memphis BBQ does not have sauce. And, they are somehow proud of this fact.

Don't get your hopes up. It is just as bad as it sounds.

There are plenty of both styles

Never been to Memphis, huh? Been about 30 times. Lots of different joints. Plenty of sauce styles, dry and wet ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, turkey, chicken. Outside of brisket and sausage, Memphis is insanely good at BBQ.

Funny because the reviews and videos I have seen all talk or show sauce

Corkys for dry rub ribs
Central for pulled pork
Germantown Commissary for everything
Rendevous is a tourist trap

Prefer Corky's wet and Rendezvous dry (of course).

Go to Rendezvous for lunch if you go on a weekend - too touristy at night. Dry rub ribs are a must try. Pulled pork sandwich and 1/2 a Chicken are excellent.

Corky's Ribs - wet or dry- and sandwiches are excellent.

Agreed. But I like Corky's wet ribs, too.

Even though Rendezvous is a tourist trap, they have some excellent dry rub ribs.

My wife isnt a big fan but we were in Mempsis a couple of summers ago and she loved Corky's. If we head over from my parents after Xmas for the game we might try Flight for a bit upscale

Besides bbq, hit Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken.

My preference:

Corky's
Commissary
Fat Larry's
Central (I like their nachos)

rendezvous is ok, but it's reputation and price exceed the product.

There are plenty of other places in some parts off town that aren't the safest.

Gus's is an amazing fried chicken spot. And also in a somewhat famous part of Memphis.

I love Rendezvous dry ribs. They are a little different, and it is too touristy for me. I always sit at the bar to avoid the tourists. But I really like those ribs.

And another overly tourist thing to do is the ducks at the Peabody. But if you are there, you should see it once. Great story and tradition.

And the two guys on piano with a comedy show in an Irish pub on east Beal St is also a must.

Just be careful where you go in Memphis. It can get really ugly fast. I lived there and went into some parts I should not have been in.

I've eaten at many of the places mentioned.
My favorite is Interstate BBQ. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned.

I've been to Corkys and Interstate both. I liked Corkys a little bit more. I thought that Interstate BBQ was a little more touristy. It's hard to compare out of state barbecue with what we have in Texas.

Had Corky's and Rendezvous. Both are fine. Good thing about Rendezvous is you are a short walk to Beale ST.

Texas is the best place in the world for bbq. St. Louis style and Memphis are different, some good, but not Texas good,
