I posted the same thing. How many college jobs are going to come open? Hell I can name at least five nfl jobs that will probably be open and that's without even thinking hard.

A&M didn't hire Kliff and Snyder until the end of the second week of January in 2012. The Narduzzi, Foster etc rumor mill was at its peak in early January. This is extremely early and I think A&M (and Auburn) fans are ridiculously premature (South Carolina hasn't even bothered to actually fire anybody yet). The type of coaches we want to hire are borderline ready for head coach jobs, and they aren't going to jump at lateral moves title wise while head coaching jobs may still open up.

Madden, i think people are frustrated because this opportunity is a big one for a DC. And their perception is that the university is not being aggressive enough in bringing that person on board. A&M is SEC now, and SEC is about defense for the most part. Plus, A&M is wealthy in comparison to most schools. So why the wait? I can understand the frustration of Aggies. My two cents.

Perhaps they should re-evaluate how they develop their perception then. Sumlin said today it isn't about making a quick hire, but making the right hire. Now that's either coach-speak, or it isn't, but I'd be hard pressed to see how their perception of the situation, without any further internal knowledge, jumps to the conclusion that we are just sitting on our hands.

Or, it could be that someone has already agreed but doesn't want his name out until after the season. Or, we have our guy but are working through the details. Or, we believe taking our time and making the correct hire is paramount.
