There won't even be much of a debate on the 4. It is pretty much a consensus that those are Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, and Ohio State.

Tu loss to UCLA is on line one. OSU's loss to FSU is on line two.

A power 5 conference championship and going 9-0 in conference and 12-1 overall and playing a power 5 non-conference team is going to get Ohio State in.

A power 5 conference championship and going 9-0 in conference and 13-0 overall and playing 2 power 5 non-conference teams plus Notre Dame is going to get Florida State in.

Bama and Oregon are obviously in.

That's your 4 playoff teams.

The only thing debatable now is who will be number 5? I think it will be Baylor with TCU at 6. The OU loss today kills TCU. It means they will only have one win against a final top 25 (before the bowl games) team and that was KSU.....and KSU will not have a single win against a top 25 team (unless you count the Auburn loss).

The choice is obvious. Tcu and bu will be left out. No drama, no mystery, it will happen. Sucks for them, but....

I just dont get how you can say that tcu is 3 this week and then they drop to 6 winning by 50. Ohio state did good, but wisconsin is not that good of a team. So if bama had beaten missourri and they had been 5 or 6 they would they jump to 3 just because they beat a missourri team that we know isnt that good. I just dont really see how you can say tcu should drop so much. I know they will pick ohio state b/c they are the name team, but I just dont think it is right where as tcu is concerned.

Hypothetical scenario:

Two teams. Equivalent records. Fairly close SOS.

To close out the year, one team plays a perennial bottom dweller and wins handily.

The other team demolishes a top 15 team to win it's conference.

Who would you pick?

Easy. Neither conference championships nor head-to-head had been considered in the committee's rankings. They will be considered in the final rankings, which are based on the whole body of work.
