My proposal is to do a Panama canal thing and have a canal dug from the Brazos to join up with Bee creek (which would be dredged and widened) there would be water tailgating with docks as well as boardwalk tailgating from the shoreside of Spence park

We can bring up a couple hundred sea Ags for a few semesters to do the work

I'm not butthurt about making the campus look beautiful, I am pointing out that 1) their are limited resources and competing priorities and that even State money doesn't grow on trees and 2) However much money you spend on it to beautify it, it will be completely covered up by everything I listed above when the neighbors you are trying so hard to impress come to visit.

Not that it doesn't have merit, but it strikes me as a perfect project for private funding. The beauty of private funding is that you truly get a gauge on people's actual interest in the project. So go for it.

Taking that rule away means that the more competitive academic high schools get more students in. That would be good for our academic reputation....not so much for the talent on campus

The grove works so well because of 3 thing mostly.

Its large, bigger than Spence.

Is surrounded by road on all sides so the hundreds of tailgates have easy access to pull up in their trucks and unload all their crap. Several tailgates actually bring in their stuff on large trailors the size of 18 wheelers.

And most of all, all the people that go have pretty much nothing to do in that state the rest of the week and year so they go all out for each tailgate.

If the drainage ditch was covered Spence would be the same size if not larger than the grove.

A good majority of the tents at the grove are from out of state people.
