Bottom line. We play them if that's how the bowl selections work out.
We don't don't go in, as fans, like scared little b*tches. Whether or not it's considered a no-win situation (beat them, no big deal / lose and OH NO HOW DO WE EVEN GO ON BEING A PROGRAM, BAS BULLSH*T LEFT AND RIGHT!), let this team play the ******* game.
It would be a premier game amidst a bunch of non-event worthless bowl matchups. And if we win, we win. If we lose, we lose. It will sure as hell tell us where this team and coaching staff really is.
But in the end it will still be one game. All this talk of it being something that will make or break the program is stupid. Short-term affects, sure, whatever. But if you think a loss is the kind of thing that will undermine everything that our move to the SEC has brought then you're being overdramatic or even more so a coward.
If we're not scared to play Bama, Auburn and LSU every year, with the possibility of losing, them why are we scared to play anyone? Isn't that why the team exists? TO PLAY.
How pointless and boring is it for a boxer to only agree to fight opponents that they're supposed to beat? The whole point of this is to compete and go in knowing you can win.
If we end up in a different bowl with a better opponent than Texas, are we scared then too?
