And this.... Myles tackled repeatedly

You know Auburn, if it takes the refs cheating so you can win then don't complain when they actually call a play fairly and claim conspiracy.

Instead of *****in' about what happened at the bottom of the pile Barners should ***** that their QB & RB messed up the mesh that they've practiced thousands of times.

not that it matters now, but i wonder how obioha ended up with it. To me it seems like watts and payne probably both had it and obioha helped watts get it away from the pile and the ball eventually got all the way to him.
This.

Watts had more of the ball that CAP at the bottom of the pile. Julien just helped the officials see that.

Still would've had the ball on the five
It didn't happen anywhere near the 5.

My God, Qualen Cunningham was raped on that same play as Garrett. TWO holds in one play not called!

What happened at the bottom of the scrum is pure speculation. What happened on the two plays above is fact - they were 100% missed calls. And there were several others that the officials missed with Myles.

Yeah. It was so bad that Aaron Taylor pointed this out at least a couple of times.

I really liked Taylor.

Thanks Hillary. But seriously, has a bunch of guys piling on a football ever resulted in overturning the call on the field in the history of football? Unless they're going to mount cameras in the field looking up, there's nothing to see. If you throw the ball down on the opponent's two on a simple hand-off, you deserve to lose it. Stop whining.

Jameis Winston's buddy had $$$ on TAMC winning straight up - so that's what happened.

Taylor was fine, I had no issues with him.

Carter Blackburn can EAD though. Dude was worthless and wanted to jump the gun on every questionable play, and give his insight that favored Auburn, and ultimately was incorrect.

After one replay of the targeting penalty "Yep, that's textbook targeting right there!". Nope.

After the CAP fumble at goal-line... "And CAP falls back on it and recovers for Auburn!" Nope.

After an early first down we got on our own 25 or so (he confused the first down line with the painted yard lines of the 25) "And he's tackled short of the first down..." Nope.

He really sucked calling that game.

I normally don't pour salt in the wounds, but their fanbase has been getting on my nerves since we went into their house and took them down. They aren't fortunate for once, and blame everybody but themselves. Well, I'll add my piece to this... you insufferable jackasses. A horsecollar tackle couldn't save you this time...

It's always Alabama's fault when Auburn loses. They can't accept it any other way.

If you fumble and put the ball on the ground, its all bets are off in the pile. And possession is 9/10ths of the law is the rule of thumb. I really don't doubt their guy initially landed on it; but he didn't hold on to it.
Truth. The refs never, ever treat establishing possession after a fumble like they treat scoring a TD (ie it's instant). They always, always let the guys scrum for a couple of seconds. You have to get possession and keep it for a bit.

And that's why they call it "big boy" football here in the SEC.

Yeah he did say "textbook targeting", as if there is a textbook on targeting. He really needs to be quiet.

Carter Blackburn is a hometown boy where I live, so I've heard him speak a few times at various functions. His anti-Aggie bias came out at all of them, so I'm not surprised to hear how he called the game. It is what happens when you are educated in New York (Syracuse) with other east coast elitists and your father is a diehard Baylor grad.

I agree in principal that there are times when a player falls on a fumble, meets the criteria for control, and the play should immediately be considered dead....yet the refs allow a scrum in which the player with the ball can easily have it muscled away. I have a problem with that.

But, in the replay you could see that even though it looked like the Auburn player was in perfect position to lock the ball up, he bounced and left a gap between the ball and his body and his arm. Had he been able to clamp down just a bit more, the play would have been dead right then. But, he didn't do that.

Now, can we talk about holding?

btw, I think Julien wasn't even going for the ball....I think he had a death grip on the auburn player's wrist

I thought from the replay on TV it looked like the ball squirted out from Artis-Payne at the last second before he fell on it and into Armani Watts hands. I didn't know how Obioha ended up with it though but it does appear in the other graphic posted that Obioha pulled Watts out and that's how he got the ball.
I watched the replay as well, and agree that it looked like Watts ended up with it. When he got up from the pile, it looked like Obioha grabbed the ball from Watts to take it to the sideline.

Good catch (no pun intended).

If there is such a thing as a performance review, how the heck can this crew explain how they missed two obvious holds, not 10' apart, on the same play?

Do teams send in complaints to the league officiating office like they do in the NFL?

(And I guess like in the NFL, they get the same "Thank you for your input. We'll review this and get back with you" BS form letter)

Are they talking about the last two calls? The fumbles? Because they were both correctly called.

Sooo, what exactly is the explanation from Auburn fans as to how the Aggie defense or refs created the miscue between Marshall and Payne that caused the fumble? Jedi mind trick?
