Although watching officiating during bama games reminds me of watching texas play. The lsu board had some pretty convincing stuff that zebras do help bama a bit more than average awhile back.

Something, something Myles Garrett got mugged on 97% of his plays. Where were the bama refs looking on those plays? As my LSU buddy said, the horseshoe finally fell out of Auburn's ass.

Anyone run a count on the number of times Garrett was held and the foul was not called? He got tackled by the LT in the 2nd quarter on the 3rd and 11 completion. You know it's bad when the guys in the booth are pointing it out. Piss off, Awburn.

how about a graphic of JFF getting horse collared last year, or a compilation of the best offensive tackling no- calls against Myles yesterday!!

I agree about the refs though. Even though (if the conspiracy were real) it ended in our favor...those holding calls (or lack thereof) though...MUCH SUCK.

How about don't let a freshman throw four TD passes and a blocked Fg for a TD and those calls don't matter

I thought they would pull out the "Bama paid the refs so they could have our playoff spot" angle. And they did not disappoint.

FWIW, Telco's response to the graphic in the OP was outstanding.

If the refs call even 25% of the ridiculous holds on Myles Garrett, Auburn is facing several 3rd and 18 type situations, and they probably score at least one less TD. Whatever happened on those 2 fumbles at the end of the game would be irrelevant anyway because they would have been down 10-13 points. Not 3.

Or the Duke Williams hit resulting in fumble where Harris would have scored. No way that's an incomplete pass. Caught it, turned, established possession, took step, got drilled in knee, fumbled.

All I see in that picture is a bunch of dudes standing around looking down. How the hell did they come up with all that?

Harris's knee was down when he picked up the ball. Would not have been a touchdown.

Anyone who thinks Payne definitively had that ball never played a down of competitive football. You can never assume that the first guy who falls on a football is the player who ends up with it. If you watch the replay at full speed, it seems very likely that the ball squirted out from under Artis-Payne and into Obioha's arms. Then Artis-Payne is the one who tried to wrestle it away from Obioha, not the other way around. The officials determined that this was the case given that Obioha had possession of the ball when they got there.

not that it matters now, but i wonder how obioha ended up with it. To me it seems like watts and payne probably both had it and obioha helped watts get it away from the pile and the ball eventually got all the way to him.

Game wouldn't have been close if they called even half the assaults made against Myles. Last year it was the no-call horse collar. Burn Auburn Burn.

I was zoned in on the ball when the goal-line fumble happened.. It was clear that Artis-Payne, while being the first one with a good chance of securing the ball, never had complete possession.. The ball was loose enough for Obioha to pull it out. If A-P had it secured, since he was on top of it, then Obioha never would have been able to pull it out. The refs made the call, and there was no definitive evidence to overturn it.

auburn should be the last team to complain to complain about things like luck and refs.

No one has had a better run over the last year and a half of getting lucky breaks and no-calls.

If Bama wins out it doesn't matter. They are in the playoff. If they lose another game they are out. Auburn's record doesn't matter at this point.

I thought from the replay on TV it looked like the ball squirted out from Artis-Payne at the last second before he fell on it and into Armani Watts hands. I didn't know how Obioha ended up with it though but it does appear in the other graphic posted that Obioha pulled Watts out and that's how he got the ball.

If you fumble and put the ball on the ground, its all bets are off in the pile. And possession is 9/10ths of the law is the rule of thumb. I really don't doubt their guy initially landed on it; but he didn't hold on to it.

At this point what difference does it make? Any other fumble on any other play in any other game, goes to whoever ultimately comes up with the ball. Period!

Truth. The refs never, ever treat establishing possession after a fumble like they treat scoring a TD (ie it's instant). They always, always let the guys scrum for a couple of seconds. You have to get possession and keep it for a bit.
