They used to avoid him and now he is feasted upon. Was he injured?

No one ever avoided Deshazor. He isn't all-SEC but he's not bad either. He just goes up against the best reciever every week so he is thrown against a lot.

Yeah he isn't targeted. Bass, now that's a guy who is targeted. Poor kid. Every time he's in the opposing team either runs right at him or throws to whoever he is assigned to cover. He gets worked all over the field

Our DB play has been nothing short of terrible. We've had how many interceptions this year?

Granted some of it is coaching, but they have been roasted like coffee on a weekly basis.

the biggest disappointment of the season has been the play of A&M's preseason projected starting cornerbacks. They were supposed to be the strength of the defense

Uh probably because he, and the rest of our CBs give a 10 yard cushion every play....usually more than that on 3rd downs AND begin the play with a back peddle. I played QB for 8 years (2 in college) and I'd love to throw against our secondary.

Even more depressing when you see Vandy and Kentucky playing press and being very physical. Can't teach confidence.

This is spot on.

Simple. Harris wasn't on the field. Otherwise it would've been him getting picked on every play. Just like the Mississippi State game.

I believe it's the soft coverage we play. I don't care how great or bad the receivers are, as long as we line up ten yards off the receivers we will get beat. By doing this the coaches have given our corners more room on the field to cover. This has to be demoralizing to a kid to line up against receivers and be ten yards back on the very first play of the game. To me it's bend don't break mentality and reason we don't have the fire on defense.

Look at our opponents. Even Lamar pressed our receivers more than we pressed theirs.

To me a successful 1st series against ULM is to man up and line up 1 yard off the reveivers with everyone else blitzing (don't get me started on the lack of blitzing) and at the snap just knock the hell out of their guys. Nobody on their team makes it past the line of scrimmage. I don't care about the ensuing penalties. We need to instill some aggression in these guys.

Deshazor sucks... but at least Vernon Hardgraves got roasted by Cooper too

I do think this is all on the coaches and our secondary has some talent. Just with the schemes it's not working.

Looking back at our current and past secondary coaches where they came from they were attacking defenses at Boise and Nebraska. Then they get here and all of a sudden they start playing prevent and soft zone? Please... Look at the person calling the game plans. Nothing better than playing scared.

Can't blame the cornerbacks for our stubborn coaching scheme of playing 8 yards off the receiver on 3rd and 5 or less. The slant beats it every time. That burns me more than anything else.
