Really you think the fireworks are the problem? I guess you have not watched or been to many other big time programs because they do similar things. The issue is not the fireworks or the music or the cannon or the swag, etc. The issue is our coaches did not put a good game plan together the last few weeks and our players have not executed PERIOD.

The intro is nails. It's designed with two goals: to get the portion of the crowd that makes the most noise (students) amped up for the game. Argue all you want but something is needed to get Old Army's New Army kids and grandkids off their devices and to pay attention, if only for a moment.
Second, it's for the recruits and the team. It's all about getting kids jacked before kickoff.
Now, you may not be able to do anything about what gets a football recruit excited but, as I said, those are YOUR spawn on the east side. Tradition, loyalty, and all that other stuff so many of you spout about starts at home.

Damn right. All logos and end zone art off the field. Not even slashes in the EZ because Notre Dame already does that. All uniforms are now maroon lids (absolutely no logo), maroon home jerseys or white road (absolutely nothing indicating who we are).

Intro is what it is, but we could use a few less Casey Kasem moments in the middle of the game, where dozens of obscure and not-so-obscure people are trotted out on the field to be recognized. How about we do this just once or twice a game, eh? Nothing sucks the air out of the stadium more than a sappy vignette about some Ag who did something and how she likes pop tarts and long walks on the beach. Every time they do one of those i keep waiting for the announcer to tell us to keep our feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.
Virtually impossible for the crowd to sit through one of those and then rev back into screaming for the defense to get a stop.

Was at the game in Knoxville this past Saturday, shot of fireworks each time they scored and piped music for each 3rd down.
If some of you stopped comparing our gameday now to what to what we did 20 years ago, and actually compared it other schools around the country you would be more than happy with our gameday.
It's by far the least cheesiest and still filled with traditions compared to others.
