Good point. I hope the coaches ask him in this weeks meetings why he keeps calling those plays. I'm sure it will be some time after they pull him out from underneath the bus.
He did against Mizzou last year, but he was playing with a broken thumb and a separated shoulder
If you can't throw vertical it's pretty easy for the CBs to key in on them at the line of scrimmage.
The difference being that JFF's LoS throws turned into 5-6 yard gains because the CBs had to respect his long ball and they had to play off the line or risk getting burned deep.
Part of the problem is Hill's release is slow and defenses know exactly where he's going on those lateral throws...if you're gonna put it on the edge you have to get it out there quick so our guy can get the corner and move upfield.
No he took off running.
