I'm in grad school at SMU and had dinner with one of the members of the board a week ago. It won't be Mack brown but he did say they are prepared to offer between $3-5 million for a "proven" coach

They'd have to make financial provision for a really good coaching staff. Mack does everything very, very well...except actually coach. But he's got a whole wall of money and probably doesn't need the headache(not that this is a serious proposal, anyway).

Mack should keep drawing his sip-security check from the longhorns. Why should Mack expose himself to another firing at either of those two dead end programs. That sip money spends just as good as those two and he doesn't have to do a damn thing for it.
