5 plays, game over. Has there been a shorter one?

Tebow in the NFL. Beat Pittsburgh with one pass, as I recall. One play, game over.
quote:Wow the BAS is strong in you.
The announcers seemed too stunned to announce that A&M had actually won the game. They were silent. They were likely all ready with their Jumbo OL and awesome RB lines; then "the stuff".

There will now never be a shorter on in NFL.

I don't follow the NFL, but couldn't this still be done? Other team only gets a chance if first team with possession kicks a FG?

As much as I hat to continue the derailment of the thread with NFL talk, a kickoff return in OT would end the game more quickly than Tebow's play.

Don't both teams now get one possession in the nfl? Or is that only if the first team gets a FG?
quote:I am almost certain that a turnover is treated as a change of possession and the play gets blown dead, giving the ball to the other team the opponents 25 - meaning the shortest possible OT would be 2 plays.
Theoretically, it could be done in one play. Pick 6 on the first play would end it.

You are correct, sir. A touchdown on the first drive ends the game in OT. A kick-off return for a TD to open OT would be the fastest way to end it for the NFL.

Except for the fact that Lundquist yelled "Aggies win!" as we were finishing the tackle on 4th and 2, you're dead on.
