i disagree for the record.

21 points- that is what the D gave up. we made some mistakes, but for the most part, especially considering the holes our O put us in, our D was stellar.

A&M struggled offensively. However, the quoted viewpoint fails to acknowledge the potency of the Aggie offense, or the resiliency of the defense. Every great season includes some last-gasp victories (see Auburn last year for details). A&M won, and they better make damn sure they improve next week.

Arky rose and fell because they had the biggest line in amateur and professional football. The ONE touchdown lead their line made was good, but they sacrificed endurance for force. And in the end they couldn't hold on. If other sec lines played with the same backfield, they would not have built any lead.

Did you not watch the Rice game? We learned nothing today.

That being said, the defense was good today. Any time we hold anyone to 28, any losses are 100% on the offense.

That assessment completely ignores how horrible our defense was last year. They still aren't dominating, but they are a huge improvement over last year. They are moving in the right direction.

I think it was shown that the offense can be had. The defense did pretty darn well considering they were hung out to dry for three quarters. I figured they would give up at least 21 (that is all they gave, as the fake punt blunder was a special teams issues). And that assumed the offense was clicking.

The defense is much improved from last year through the first five games. I do not see how anyone can deny that. What worries me is that if Ark. can figure out how to stop the offense for much of the game, so will other teams. And those other teams will have better overall offenses compared to Ark.

I think partially true...Arky could have several, at least 2 sure TD if it weren't for penalty...

I'll agree...for this game. That was the worst 3.5 quarters of offense we've seen in quite some time. IMO if the offense clicked arky would have been forced to change their scheme. We all knew the D had some growing to do. Today they did just that. Great teams win, and sometimes those wins are ugly. If the D plays that inspired all season we'll all be happy in January. Keep sleeping on us....

I agree partially. Our defense is young in places so they will be exploited because they will make mistakes. They are also he best athletes that we have had in defense in a while and they will make some big plays. Our secondary will probably be suspect all year long. Hopefully the pass rush keeps improving and it will help the secondary.

If those TD plays were upheld, meaning the penalties were ignored (like they usually are), we would have lost. I concede that.

It goes to show you can't count the Aggies out...no matter how bad they play...I think the Defense played well enough especially in the 4th quarter...It was the offense which put us in the tough situations...

The defense is the reason we won. Our offense is what almost cost us the game. It has sucked since the South Carolina game.

I'll disagree. If our WRs don't drop a bunch of wide open passes in the first half we likely go up by a few TDs early and Arky can't just continue to pound it out on the ground. I'm not sure that other SEC teams got a lot of insights into how to beat our D, other than to hope our offense self-implodes and leaves the D on the field for most of the game. Our defense gave up 21 points (not counting the special teams fiasco) to a good Arky offense that had a TON of possessions during the game. If our offense is clicking, you have to think that we will win most of our games this season if our D holds everyone else to just 21 points.

we've stepped up to higher competition after the Three Cupcakes. Every game is going to be tough.

Disagree with everything else especially the line that we will be playing teams who know how to hold on to lead:

Ole Miss last 2 years with Aggie comebacks- obviously they can't hold on to leads
Auburn last year had 2 ugly wins to the national championship game where they were behind the last minute of the game . The last against Alabama who blew a lead

While factually correct that assessment ignores a lot. Or offense looked bad for much of the game. In the end though or D outlasted the Arkansas offense and our O got enough done. Arkansas couldn't break into our secondary the entire 4th quarter.
