Not sure how many others use or are even aware teamrankings.com, but their power ratings tend to be a much more accurate indicator of the true quality of teams, calculated using nothing but stats, sort of like a much more advanced version of an RPI. More info on their system

Anyway, check out the current power ratings. Notice anything? All 7 SEC West teams are ranked in the top 13. Damn. I know it's been said a million times already, but this division is ridiculous. Screenshot below.

Seems credible and thoughtful in spots but then TCU and Kstate are ranked as world beaters. Baylor at 22 makes me think they use logic so what do they know about those other two BDF teams that I don't know?

Again. You're being subjective. This calculation is not. Keep in mind though that it will get more and more accurate as the season goes on, so it probably won't hold a ton of weight until about mid season.

They're pretty dang close to being ahead of us. But it's not just about winning vs losing. It's about the scores and stats involved.

Only FBS competition is used.
