Okay, fair enough, we're re-doing the sod. But that's a lot of grass to waste. Are they just going to rip it out and haul it off? I would be willing to go get some. I already have 80s-era Kyle Field on my patio (nice little area rug), I could use some real stuff to replace some of the nutgrass-infested areas out back.

They're most likely to give it a good clipping and trimming and let it dry out a little, also known as curing. Then theyre gonna compress it into bricks, wrap them up with plastic wrap and garbage bags and try to ship it somewhere. Discretely of course

Bison, if you have a nutgrass infested yard that is usually a sign the the soil you have is too wet, and if other turf is placed there it could possibly rot the roots over time. Just a heads up.

Well, I was going to cut out the bad sections, lay down an inch of fresh compost, and go. The rest of the yard is St. Augustine and is doing well, I just have two patches that I'd like to replace because of the intrusion.

I did some back-of-the-envelope map and I think we could get maybe 15,000 usable 18" x 18" squares (assuming a 320x120 field, factor in unusable pieces). Five bucks apiece would probably be about the limit on price.

Or they could do $20 like they did at the end of the season last year. That'll cover a lot more of the cost.
