Actually the dead ball part is correct. It is a dead ball foul with regard to how it is enforced. But we should not have benefited with an untimed down

But if true, this officiating crew really needs to be reprimanded by the league for sloppy officiating, and they need to sit down with the rulebook and memorize the damn thing. The guy sounds so lost out there.

"Listen" (favorite quote of ref explaining what happened.) The officials got all the important screwed up stuff right. Cut 'em some slack.

Really? Blocking a field goal is really tough. I would imagine it's only marginally more difficult against Alabama than against Rice.

If they get the kick off, mo. The only reason you do this on 3rd down is so that in the event of a fumbled snap, blocked kick or other mess up, you have the opportunity to recover and get 4th down.

On third down, if UF kicks and misses no second chance. If holder muffs the snap and falls on ball. They can use fourth down to try and kick again.

Has nothing to do with the win. It has everything to do with the difficulty of the task. You really think they were celebrating the fact that they're leading Rice by 14 instead of 11?
