Took me awhile to somewhat get over the whipping we received.

I was impressed with the number of aggies that made it to Columbia. It looked more like a game with UGa or Clemson. I assume Hyman made the no band no cheerleader decision (I'm so glad yall took him from us - one of the best things to ever happen to us).

I wasn't expecting what happened. A&M jumped on us early and took the fans out of the game.

That was the worst defensive performance in school history - and I've seen us have some terrible defenses.

I hope this was a situation where the game got out of hand and we truly aren't that bad. - I hope.

Yall made us look as bad as we've been in more than a decade. You offensive seems to be just as dynamic and your d looks like it has gotten a lot better.

Good luck the rest of the year - hopefully, we can get a lot better.

Solid post. I fully expect our offense to be better this year than last. We did not utilize our talent at TE last year and it looks like that will change based on Thursdays game.

The media is already giving us our talking points for the next few weeks...that you guys were underrated and it wasn't that much of a statement. USCe will win the east.

Put on the thick skin before for you read some of the juvenile replies you'll likely get, but thanks for the take. This offense has made many good defenses look lost the first time they face it. I doubt your defense is as bad as they looked. The weapons we had on the field almost made it unfair, but I'm not going to apologize for that.

Our defense was the bigger surprise, I think. We all had reason to believe the offense would be fine. We had little evidence of what the defense might be able to do. Except for some busted coverages and a few ticky-tack PI calls, it could have been much worse on the scoreboard.

Good luck to USC the rest of the way. Maybe we'll see you guys at the end of the year.

We don't have cheerleaders. Band didn't go due to scheduling complications and expense of the flight. Not Hyman's call.

Some days I feel bad about giving such nice folks a buzzsaw. But it's just a game. SC is good people.

We have to score plenty because last year proved we can't trust our D. And given that yall got some broken coverages to get easy TDs, you can see why 2-3 possession leads can evaporate. And they did last year.

Idk where UGA is this year but I hope yall can tear into them. I'm fairly certain yall can take UF. Mizzou is another big question mark. 9-3 is the worst case scenario.

I was at game and enjoyed the SC fans, stadium and overall experience. I was amused by the pregame chiding SC fans gave, which was almost always, "Y'all ain't got Johnny to save you anymore!" As posted previously, most of our true football fans knew that we are perfectly fine on offense, so that comment was humorous to us.

After the game, most of the fans were pleasant, and I was proud of the general Aggie humbleness that we typically show. It made for a great experience and a worthwhile trip.

Thanks for the hospitality, and hope we get to meet again in Atlanta in December.

Same for me. Enjoyed the game and classy fans except for the two drunks behind us. I think they were from Cheraw. They kept things interesting and nothing personal or my wife would have jumped them...

Stadium looks like it could stand an upgrade plus I didn't realize the campus was so far away. It was like an industrial area around there.

Fans got pretty negative early on and the boo-birds came out pretty quickly.

Other than those observations....Great time tail gating with some cocks and overall very positive experience.

The funniest thing was driving up to the game on I-26 from our home in Charleston. Just about every gamecock vehicle that passed us rolled down windows and shot us bird after seeing Aggie decals on my truck! That must be a USC tradition. May the drive go by quicker...

OP - one of the things that makes the Ags performance so enjoyable is the fact I have great respect for Spurrier. Doing that to a Spurrier team is impressive

But for similar reasons, you shouldn't lower your expectations for the year. HBC knows what he's doing. Even your "young" QB looked better in the second half. Plenty of reason for cock optimism, especially if your RB heals up going into the sec games

For the aggies that went, what was the sports talk radio like on the drive back?

Good post. I had a great time in Columbia! I tailgated with a bunch of USC fans before heading over to the Aggie tailgate at the Fairgrounds. Everyone I encountered was pretty cool - no one trying to start trouble or anything. Besides the small group of drunk students at Midnight Yell cursing at us, I'd say your fans gave me a good overall impression of USC and Columbia. The pregame atmosphere was very fun. I'll be back in a couple years!

Can't wait to see you guys in BCS. Best of luck with the rest of the season. Beat Georgia and Florida for us.

Good post. USC should be fine against most of the teams you face. UGa and Clemson will be tough. Mizzou will look a lot like A&M when JFF was here.

Don't get too down on your team yet. One important issue about teams that run the spread offense; if they aren't use to defending against it on a regular basis, the game can get out of hand quickly. That is what I take from your performance on Thursday. USC needs more experience in stopping these kinds of offensives. Y'all struggled against Mizzou last year too. Heck, even Bama struggles to defend this offense. Give your team a chance to bounce back!
