Mainly tempo...we try to run your *ss into the ground with a zillion plays.

Fun-gun normal pace.

I think it's just the Run and Shoot, and they renamed it because Spurrier put his own touches on it. Also if you think about 90's Houston or the 2000's Hawaii offenses (prototypical Run and Shoot teams) they never bothered to establish a power run game. Spurrier had the kind of athletes to go straight at you, which is probably why people felt the need to differentiate his offense.

Being that they ran it 20 years ago, it's missing a ton of the things you associate with a spread/Air Raid offense, like HUNH, shotgun read option, mesh passing concepts. Also I feel like he never used tight ends.

It did some things we do in our offense: WR screens, option routes (where the WR will read the DB and run certain routes against different looks), power running out of one-back sets, 3, 4 and 5 wide formations.

Never heard the term "fun and gun" before. Offhand, I'd say it would have been a good name for our offense under JFF

It's basically just a reminder that sports media has always been pretty stupid. Spurrier for sure didn't name it.

I think our current iteration of air raid has much wider gaps than they dreamed of with run and shoot or fun and gun. This is the leach lineage.
