Depends on the play, if it's a quick pass then he can't change his grip, but if he drops back, he has time to get the perfect grip which looks like with the laces for him.
Quarterbacks now are taught to throw regardless of the laces in situations where they have to get the ball out fast. Especially in offenses like ours.
Common if throwing a quick hitch or receiver screen pass. Take snap and throw, no time to adjust grip.

If you have huge hands like he appears to, you probably don't even need the laces for most throws.
Why would Kyler want #2? He's always been #1, and he's not going to switch to #2 because of Johnny. You're a freaking moran if you think every good dual threat qb that plays for A&M is going to want #@ now
