Do we have a standard somewhere that defines our Aggie Maroon?

I have seen various different shades of maroon, some just too red (burgandy), some too purple. I prefer the deep dark color that our Jerseys are, which I assume is based on the "Official" formula.

I was playing around with setting a custom desktop color for windows trying to match our Maroon and I think I just about got it.

The settings I used are:

Hue: 223
Sat: 179
Lum: 26
Red: 48
Green: 7
Blue: 24

Anyone have the "Official" formula ?

Seriously, I have a great job, and it only took me a couple of minutes to draw up the color. No shortage of hobbies either. I'll pass on the offer.

The official maroon is PMS 505 as set forth by the Pantone Monitoring System.

Compare the jersey color to the color of the Ag Tag and you'll see what I mean. Not all maroons are the same, and we do have an official shade of it.

Yes. The Office of Collegiate Licensing will only approve those art graphics which utilize the following Pantone Monitoring System (PMS) colors to depict the universities trademarks.

I just got back from Florida. After having seen numerous FSU, Bama, and OU, caps and T-shirts, along with the tatoos and earrings in baby boys, I would swear that they ALL are maroon.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightttt!! Riddle me this then: Why do you walk into Wal-Mart and see Maroon, Red, and Crimson Texas A&M shirts. Are they not officially licensed? Someone has some explaining to do.

IIRC we have not used the "official" maroon in years. Does not look good on TV. If you look at some old Aggie items they look browish purple. I do not know if that is the official color, but that is what used to be used.
