I'm all for this. Stoops to USC and Mack can take over his job. tu will be finally able to beat Oklahoma

If offered, Stoops will have to do some deep soul-searching. This ain't 2010. Landscape has changed dramatically, and he's in the loser conference that is barely above CUSA and MWC.

USC still has scholly limits, and the fall-out from the Reggie Bush sanctions is still being felt. But isn't that what Stoops did at Oklahoma? Took a team to the mountaintop within two years? Only Saban has won natties at two schools in the modern era.

Something to consider on his part.

Excellent points about why Stoops should take the job (not sure he'll be offered, though).

He's no longer universally loved here and as pointed out, his recruiting has fallen way off across the board, not just in Texas.

Believe me, it's been noticed. Even Switzer says the sooners no longer have the quality of players they had become accustomed too.

And the falloff started BEFORE the Ags left for the SEC. Our move just made it worse for Stoops.

Norman? How old are his kids? Still too young to make that drastic of a move?

Not saying he would leave, but that just means he doesn't want to coach in the NFL.

A lot of coaches prefer the college game, including some that would prefer USC over OU. USC has some of the good things about the NFL sprinkled in with everything else of the college game.

Stoops to USC makes a lot of sense for him. His brother, the DC, was out at Arizona for a while and surely has a California connection or two. No matter if they currently struggle or not, USC is at the top of the Pac 12 food chain.

OU is a better gig than USC IMO.

Anyone who doesn't think the SC job is a top 5 destination in the country is crazy. Even on probation, the draw for playing in LA brought in top recruiting classes each year. I am not worried about KS going to SC, as I don't think he could find a better job coaching in college.

However, I will be surprised if we keep playing this well that he will not be in the NFL in the next two years.
