I was watching during his interview. He seriously said, after Skip Bayless told him about JFF working with George Whitfield, that his draft projection was based on last year's performances only. He went on to say he didn't need to see any film from his 5 1/2 quarters so far this year.

So lemme get this straight. Mel, you're telling me a QB who you've only seen footage of from his freshman year isn't grading out as a 1st round pick? It shouldn't take a genius to figure that out. I don't think there have been any freshman that could've gone pro after one year and been drafted in the first round.

Before the 1st game of the 2012 season, does anyone remember who the consensus first pick was?

Matt Barkley. He was taken in the 4th round. I equating trying to predict where players go in next year's draft as only a smidgen more insightful than predicting who will be offed on Game of Thrones. And there is no "I've read the book argument for football."
