I sure hope somebody visiting college station doesn't get the impression that rudy's 'fast food' bbq and wings n more make up our best places to eat.

Howdy, welcome to aggieland. For parking the lots open at 7am and pay lots go pretty quick. There is also the park at the mall and ride the game shuttle- starts 2 hrs before game and 2 hrs after. Gameday will be here from 8-10am before the game near kyle field and the MSC on drill field. Many tailgaters around Reed arena ,some who will have tv and food and share. The town has many restaurants, some night life, parks,Bush library, shopping and great medical facilities. Our tailgate is along the north parking lot at Reed Arena, we are closer to turn end part of the lot. Come by and visit.

Don't bother with spending time in Houston. Change your hotel and stay in The Woodlands instead - you're only about 65 miles from College Station and there are plenty of bars and restaurants there (Market St or Waterway Square). Close to Bush airport as well.

As far as College Station, if you want to witness a unique Aggie tradition, try to make it to midnight yell practice Friday night - it's at Kyle Field. Can't miss a visit to The Dixie Chicken and other bars in Northgate area before or after the game.

I always stop at the Chicken Oil Company for a great burger when I'm in town. It's just down the road from campus in Bryan...

Definitely party on northgate. As for restaurants, hit up Yelp and choose places that sound good to you that aren't chains. Good TexMex at Casa Rodriguez, Papa Perez, Los Cucos. Steaks and whiskey at The Republic. Burgers at The Dixie Chicken or Daily Ruckus.

Feel free to approach anyone in maroon if you need assistance or advice. Even if they want to be jackholes, someone nearby will interject.

If you're in Houston Friday afternoon & enjoy craft beer, a 3pm tour at StArnold's brewery might be a good way to start your trip. Tip, buy the souvenir pint glass to fill instead of the sample glasses.

Certainly visit the Bush library & museum in College Station. Visit the tailgates & enjoy Northgate.

Isn't wing n more a chain restaurant? I know Rudy's is a chain BBQ joint. I'd suggest you stay away from the chains and visit only local establishments. You absolutely have to visit the Dixie Chicken for a pitcher of Shiner beer and their hamburgers are pretty good as well. This will show you the true local flavor of College Station.

martins BBQ is very good, I love their brisket sandwich!

Pretty much everyone has nailed it with the suggestions. The only thing I recommend is going to Fuego after drowning your sorrows at Northgate!

Koppe Bridge is supposed to have the best burgers in town - I haven't eaten there, but others in our group rave about it.

My daughter in law works there - I think she bartends.

Eat all meals here:

Fuego, Casa Rodriquez, The Chicken, Koppe Bridge are all really good places to eat. Midnight Yell is a fantastic Aggie tradition to see.

There is a substantial difference between the College Station wings n more and those in Houston (minus the one in the Woodlands).

C&J barbeque also good, TX Roadhouse or Outback does steaks, many mexican food, chinese food, chicken places and all of the regular fast foods. University drive between the bypass six and texas avenue is known as restaurant row. There are some restaurants on Harvey road between bypass and 6 and the other direction you have Koppe Bridge and C&J BBQ. Just ask someone here in town if looking for some particular type food.

If you are planning on coming in on Thursday and want to drink your ****ing nuts off, then the Velcro Pygmies are playing at dukes that night. If 80's hair metal doesn't get you going, then your probably the type of person that would enjoy counting how many light posts are on campus

Houston has a large area to cover but agree with recommendation to stay North or even Galleria area as those are quick jaunts to college station.

Most places covered but I have to give another vote to chicken oil. Given time of game great unique place to eat and enjoy some of the later games.

Koppe Bridge burgers are the best.

They helped me get through many a hangover.
