They only bring it up, because they want to divide Aggies. That’s the hope. The reporter was also hoping it would make Sumlin upset and confrontational. They were hoping best case he would lose his cool, and they could run it all day. Worst case, they can accuse ALL AGGIES of not honoring our code, and try to turn us against each other. Don’t fall for that crap.

I do know this, anyone who brings up the Honor Code on this board is called a troll or a traitor. I probably graduated before most on this board, but I can tell you it meant something to us. I don't think it means much to most these days. Cue to troll comments.

To my knowledge no verdict has been presented. Based on that, innocent until proven guilty. Once found guilty then honor code is in play. Do you have evidence to prove he did anything? No? Well, until you do stfu!

This was the most obnoxious thing I have seen from ESPN yet. I watched it live and cringed the whole time he botched the code. Sumlin's expression was solid gold though... Even as the reporter grasped to get a rebuttal in.

The awkward way he phrased it and then delivered it like a gotcha question made me physically uncomfortable. It wasn't even a question, it just seemed like they wanted to be able to say "honor code" on sportscenter.

The whole sc segment was kind of preposterous. At one point they basically said that Jff is being selfish and that other sec teams should be upset bc it might inhibit the SEC's chance at another title

JFF is an Aggie and until you show me proof that he lied, cheated, or stole something, he has my 100%, unequivocal support.

ESPN knew what they were doing.

They showed a weekly presser on TV, even though we stated a day in advance questions about Manziel would not be addressed. So, they send a reporter outside of their regular beat writer for gigem nation Sam Kahn. The reporter they send botches the question, and then tries to correct himself with a follow-up. Sumlin basically doesn't answer as Hyman mandated yesterday. ESPN crowns the reporter king, even though he sucked, and they use it to drive a fair amount of content for the day. Basically, they pre-scripted discussion for all of these shows about the Aggie Honor Code. When Sumlin gave them very little ammo, they had to make even bigger reaches than if he got upset or flustered.
