Sand is for closers

They did the same thing last year, a thin layer of sand on top of fresh sod. I'm sure there is a reason.

Still hard to figure out exactly where the west side TV cameras will be. There is a platform at the top of the third deck. Also, all renditions show grass all the way to the walls on the field.

Renderings don't always hold true. You will see soon enough what will be installed around the grass.

No expert or knowledge of the plan but could be field turf base they have down with stone for march in durability. The concrete curb concerns me as it is not sub grade so would think could be a easy tripping hazard.

I wish we were playing ASU there!!!!!!

I hope to hell there isn't field turf between the wall and the field. No matter how it mimics the look and feel of grass, the light reflection and weathering going forward will differentiate the two surfaces and make it look like a minor league baseball field that has an artificial infield and a grass outfield.

If this is done strictly for march-in it's a bad decision. 2-3k corps members walking around the field for about 30-45 minutes isn't as much wear and tear as two football team benches with 300 lb players wearing cleats, sideline equipment, 50 or more staff, 100 - 150 guests and media personnel, and rolling TV production equipment standing and walking on it for 4 hours. Doesn't seem to affect other SEC schools which have wall to wall grass.

Bevel looks just as bad upside-down.
