Is scotch finished with updates now that the season has begun?

I don't think any of us are done until Sept. 2015. Should be some pics to come out after this weekend.

In the mean time, the FTAB checked out the new stadium last week.

Stopped by to get what will probably be the final full set prior to the grand opening of the temporary Kyle Field against Lamar Saturday. I may stop by tomorrow though and try to get some pictures tomorrow once the statues are uncovered.

Today's breakdown:
Every thing is pretty much ready for gameday. There are a few finishing touches still being done though. There is still concrete / asphalt being poured mainly on the east, a little on the south, and on the west. North side is completely ready. Asphalt is being poured where there will be more construction happening next phase. I'm not sure if it's to save money, for speed to get it down before Saturday, or it's easier to bust out once the next phase begins, but I assume it's one or more of those reasons.

Other than pouring concrete / asphalt, the old EKG statue has already been moved, a few more banners have been hung, and the rest of the statues are in place. Besides this, we are ready to go for Saturday.

Also, on the topic of the celebration, I saw a shirt that a construction worker was holding that said "I built Kyle Field" or something along those lines. And if you think that we shouldn't do a little something to say thank you to these guys because it's their jobs, I completely disagree with you. There was no promising that the stadium would be ready for this season. These guys worked very hard in the heat all day long, with very minimal shade, and you're complaining about doing something for these guys for a few hours?

I guess you wouldn't care at all if your boss didn't give you a Christmas bonus this year. I mean, it is your job...

JFF is doing construction work now? sad his stock has fallen so far with the Browns.

Two things:

- Are there two additional statues down around the SE tower? I haven't heard anything about those so kuddos to the secret keepers.

- The construction crews have worked every day since midnight after last year's Mississippi State game with the exception of Christmas day. I think they're owed some props.

Yes, the Zone will be getting a matching brick & glass facade, and a new plaza.

Ya, if you guys want to break our all time SEC attendance record of 109,061(which I was at that game) your going to have to do it this year. Once they finish the expansion you will actually have less seats than you have for this year.

So pack em in there like sardines if you think you can break our record at Neyland.

Concession stands.

They've been relocated to Cain Park until the north plaza is redone, at which point they'll be moved back.

Been watching this thing in person for a while and I dont see the East side being done for saturday. Not that it really matters but guessing there will still be some areas fenced off.

You seem like a fun guy. 24/7 work schedules, for two straight years by the time it is complete. Aggies in mid and senior management all over the job site. You're right we should roll the equestrian team out for a few more whoops instead.

Disappointed to see so many bench seating sections in the new and renovated areas. Everywhere but the student section should have chair backs.

Yeah, but 6-7 days weeks for months at a time suck ***. They may be doing shifts, but that doesn't make it any easier. A concrete sub on a job I was on once had a foreman running 10-12 hours a day every day for two months because they couldn't get enough guys on site. It would have been more than two months, but he just stopped showing up one day (which didn't do our already behind schedule any favors). Felt that being with his kid was more important. I'm betting that the vast majority of the guys doing the labor came from out of town, left their families behind, and have been working **** schedules to get done on time and get home before the next phase starts and they come back. They may have been going home once or twice a MONTH, if they're lucky. We have guys who do that, and they don't do it very long for a reason.These guysdon't deserve recognition for justdoing their job, they deserve it for working pretty damn hard, not quitting, and doing their job well.

Welcome to the real world

North End zone facade will start in early October '14. Although the building itself may be very near "completion" the internal workings may not be ready in time for game 1. The Network being done is far from complete which means possible cash only transactions for concessions, but they are working on it. The wireless network is going to be "iffy" but again, they are working on it. IBM is on the "hook" and they are well aware of the consequences if it's not ready by game 1.

How are we going to survive from Lamar to the LSU game without the construction cams?
