This is the first I've seen or heard about this star. Anyone have any idea what it is or why it's up there?

Stars are in the rendering gibs, and that's just the anchor to attach the star onto.
I love the developments at Kyle and can't wait for it to be complete for 2015 season. This year we have a truly unique frankenstadium thing going on where each elevation (N, E, S, and W) looks like it could be from a different stadium.

I'd wager that the white pads are for tents and vendors...
It's more likely the pattern of pavers and concrete is there to break up the blandness of having just concrete all around the stadium. You know, design and s**t.
