Does anyone know if these arches are going to have glass behind them or left open? Nothing other than just curiosity. From the models, it appears they will be left open.

I believe they will be open. I don't remember seeing any type of curtainwall system on the archways, but I could be wrong.

Hopefully they are open for air flow

I've seen several people say glass on here.

The tower arches are open. The gates on each side are glassed. The stairs that were installed next to the NE (in between the tower and the existing Zone ramp) will be glassed as well.

Will the towers be netted?

The arches or the interior ceilings?

Either way I don't know. I can't see the arches ever getting nets, though. Maybe the ceilings.

I reserve my spot right next to chipotle if the ek gill statue is cartoonish, which is my fear.

Looks like they took down the ribbon board on the student side put wrapped it on the new parts of the Zone... Interesting.

They took it down a couple months ago. It looks like its about to go back up, now that they have installed the new ribbon sections in the NE corner.

It will eventually be continuous around the stadium.

Makes sense, as they new ribbon boards are probably slightly different (better?) than the ones installed several years ago. Better to have them all be the same age/height/quality.

That E. King Gill statue freaks me out. Why so tall? Just seems a little strange.

Exactly. Before, you would have to know it was there or stumble upon it accidently if you wanted to see it on gameday. It will be yet another image that can be used for tv as well.

The current statue is what, 5 feet tall at most? New statue will be on the corner, there's been no resolution what's happening with the existing statue.

And for those of you who are visual, the statue and landscaped berm it sits on will have alignment with tree-lined Houston Street and the underpass to west campus. It will be up-lit and be visible as a landmark from everywhere on the north and east plazas.

Haven't confirmed it yet, but the renderings appear to show a ramp up the backside of the terraced berm, so Walton can still wash Gill.

While I'm a fan of the small statue, I don't know if I can imagine a better College Gameday backdrop than this scene:

I had the same thought. For some reason that perspective really gave me a sense of what this looks like in real life more than other photos have.

I got to go inside to the top of the zone a couple weeks ago to look at the progress that has been made and let me tell ya, no picture does justice as to how massive the stadium (especially the new SEZ) looks on the inside! It was an incredible sight!
