When I was a fish in '92....there was no elephant bowl....Heard stories, but never got a straight answer as to why it ended...I figured it just went away like quadding and family style chow did...

WillowParkAg;

I don't know how you saw over the line as short as you are!!!! Hey I didn't say I should have played the whole game, Burke did. We should have had both of us in the backfield running a shotgun option game!

I don't remember that punt making it into Quinn's book. I wonder why.

How did all this sawdust get under the hood?

Back in real Old Army days (circa 1954) it was called the Crapper Bowl and featured the "Air Crappers" against the "Ground Pounders". I wistfully remember the game played in the Fall of '54.

I earnestly pray that the ghost of Charlie Moran has returned in the form of Coach Fran, and that we never again lose to those "other people" over in Travis County. At least not very often.

Between tall offensive lineman and tall defensive lineman, it's very rare that any QB's actually sees over the line. They almost all look through the line just like I use to do – I didn’t have to see much to figure out what’s going on. You’d see a few seven-foot QB’s if seeing “over” the line was the name of the game.

I take no offense to Burke’s comment. He's a good guy - I’m sure he’s just being polite. He undoubtedly figured it was a safe comment after 15 years.

Willow Park and ABATT, you guys are great. It's amazing how sharp our memories are about a couple of football games played 15 years ago, and I know I can't remember a single thing I learned in all those classes for four years.

My original comment was just to say how good a job Flowers did when he got in the KA game. I had felt bad because if I remember correctly, it was my fault you guys weren't rotating playing time earlier. Either way, it was a blast, and some of my fondest memories of college and the corps.

I did not play (long story).

Carl Roaches was one of the coaches (coach roach). ('76 )

Another coach was a good friend of mine, Carl Warnke. Carl was a LB who didn't play much due to guys like Simonini, TenNapel, Robt Jackson, being on the team. I remember Carl making fun of us CT's. He kept saying "I thought you corps guys were supposed to be so tough".

The head coach on the AF/BQ team fir the 81 seniors was Arliss James. He did a great job and to this day, when I see him at the A&M games, he remembers me and the game.

"Hey, weren't you my outside 'backer?"
