Let's win the SEC West first.
The great thing about next season is playing Bama EARLY in the season next year. That way, if we lose, we have 10 games to make it up. LSU shouldn't be a problem, loses 4 guys to the draft on defense. Miss State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mizzou should all be easy. Vanderbilt will be tough, but home and very winnable. No Florida. Non-conference is a joke. Bama and the o-line are the only things that make me nervous next year. It could be special next year...but then again, 2011 could have been also and we saw how that turned out. That said, Sumlin doesn't let off the pedal like sleepy sherm did. BCS game next year for sure!
I agree.Its a good and manageable schedule for 2013.Gonna try like heck to get tix to the Alabama game at Kyle Field.Gig'em!

One commentator after the Aggies/OU game said something that made a lot of sense. Said that it might have been better for A&M's 2013 season if they would have lost to OU. BEFORE ANYONE GOES GETTING MAD, his reasoning was that the Aggies, coming off of such a great 2012 season, could get ahead of themselves, play with stars in their eyes, and lose a game in 2013 that they shouldn't lose. If OU wins the other night, then Aggies enter the 2013 season wth a chip on their shoulder, and thus wipe everyone else out.
With this talk of getting into the BCS NC after just one amazing season, I can certainly see what the commentator was referring to. DON'T GET AHEAD OF YOURSELVES. DON'T LIVE WITH STARS IN YOUR EYES. You have to first get to, then THROUGH Atlanta.

Seriously? That might be the dumbest ******* thing I've ever read. Winning> losing. Period. If a commentator can't figure this out, he should be announcing for a women's quilting circle. And if you find yourself agreeing with him, you should be out there sewing with the other old ladies.

The chip on our shoulder is already there in the form of losses to beatable Fla and LSU. Losing a bowl game to be hungry for next year is just dumb.

Anyone counting on an MNC run better re-watch the defense in garbage time vs. Auburn and SHSU.
The depth after the first-team is, apparently, pretty damn bad. We better get an influx of talent and improve the guys on campus or we're going to have a hard time stopping anyone.

An influx of talent like say Scouts #2 rated signing class that includes several ready to play JUCO's. If 1 of the O Tackles comes back, A&M will get a lot of preseason MNC run, and it will be well deserved. Look at the other teams coming into next year and give me 5 with less flaws than A&M. Those teams aren't out there. Obviously 2011 could happen again, but I don't see it with this coaching staff. It would take injuries for us to have 2011 again. 2 and 3's get very little practice playing in the A&M system. Instead they line up as the scout team. Also many of them are young and need more team in LJ's weight room.

Yes, if Mathews returns our offense line will be awesome. It can't be better than than this year but still good enough to win every game.
My point is that our defensive backups, when given the chance to play this season, looked awful. The SHSU 4th quarter was alarming. I would encourage anyone to re-watch it. Those back-ups will be starting next season. Yes, it can be improved, yes we we have an awesome recruiting class. But it is a huge off-season concern.
People are too caught up in that this is a linear process. It is not. We had a shot this year -- that is no guarantee or "odds on" for next season.
