Trying to pick a place to watch game in Dallas area. Suggestions please.

Which part of Dallas?

Christie's is my favorite sports bar, good food, good atmosphere...but you just have to check and see what game will have the sound on before going (if sound is important to you).

at home where the food and booze is cheap.

if you can handle a crappy restroom and dude bros Stan's Blue Note is good. Decent priced beer and a ton of TVs. Their food is mediocre and very heavy though so if you dont want fried greasy stuff you may want to go elsewhere.

Across the street is Dodie's which is much nicer as that little square is newly rebuilt after burning down a few years ago. The restrooms are clean and they have ok cajun food.

Blue Goose which is next to those two has redone their bar area which makes it fun to watch games but they close earlier than everywhere else in the area which can be annoying if your game runs late.

OT Tavern by The Granada Theater is ok as well but dont waste your time on any of their food other than the pizza.

St Pete's Dancing Marlin and The Angry Dog in Deep Ellum are decent dive bars with solid food. Not nearly as many TVs though and its first come first serve so it may be tough to get the game on depending on what else is airing.

For whatever reason, I never see many A&M people out at the sports bars, even if it's a big game. I literally have no clue if all of them just stay home to watch or what. I was at Christie's for the OSU game last year (huge game) and I didn't see any other Aggies there.

I wouldn't go to OT Tavern. That place is a **** hole. I'd definitely pick Stan's Blue Note over it if you are looking for something off Greenville. I have heard decent things about San Francisco Rose, but I haven't tried it out.

I see Aggies at Stan's Blue Note all the time.

there will probably be a ton of sips and OU fans there too though since its texas/OU weekend.

My brother really likes San Francisco Rose but the three times I have been the service and food were terrible. Last time I was there a fight spilled out into the street though I dont think that is the norm.

OT Tavern isnt so bad IMO. Its much nicer than when it was National Sports Lounge. (worst name ever) I cant emphasize enough how bad the food usually is though.

Yea, they must all go there. I haven't been to Stan's for an A&M game. I know they used to have the watching party there. It just seems you would see alot of Ags at all the sports bars, at least for the big games. And there are noticeably alot less of us compared to any other school...even schools that are not located nearby.

I always inevitably end up at the MAT. As long as there isn't an Ohio State game on, we get the audio (Ohio State alums pay to have it as their "official watch party" bar).

Frankie's and Christie's are opposite ends of the spectrum, but I like both. Frankie's is loud and crowded and Christie's is usually chill and sparse. I actually prefer loud and crowded.

At home. Dallas Ags are nothing but 2 percenters. /texags
