Why would anyone who owned an Aggie Ring ever want to sell it and second, if this ring is really class of '02 and never taken out of its box why did the guy buy it in the first place?!?!

I am willing to throw in some money to buy this ring and then donate it to the Assoc. of Former Students just so someone else doesn't buy and try to show it off as though he earned it. Anyone else up for throwing down a few dollars?

I just can not understand why anyone would ever do some sort of crap like this!

I'm in. I'd also imagine that if you went about it correctly (i.e. not let on that you are pissed off at the guy) you could arrange to pick it up in person and then find out what kind of scum would do this...

About the Aggie Ring ........ this whole ad appears to be a joke. Something fishy .....

I wish that it was some sort of sick joke but I have sadly seen too many Aggie Rings for sale on there over the last few years so I think that this might just be one more...

If it's a joke it's still gay. Even if the reserve is 20,000 and whomever it is never plans to sell it it's gay.

If somebody really is selling their ring right after recieving it, it's pathetic. I'm guessing it's a student from another country who is planning on leaving the U.S. after graduation. Many of the foriegn exchange students never get into the school spirit or pride and it wouldn't surprise me if this was just an idea for some extra cash for them. I'm not putting down the majority of our fantastic foreign exchange students, I'm simply trying to figure out what is going through this persons head. Whatever the reason, it's a pretty lame thing to do.

I'm all for discouraging this, but do it in words that won't embarrass yourself or other Aggies. I could go on, but I think thats self evident in it's meaning.

I say lost/stolen. The ring costs at least $400 so he is likely to lose money on the deal. I could almost see selling your ring if you are in a really tough financial bind, but there is no reason to sell it a week after you get it.

At $305 the reserve has not been met yet. He probably has the reserve well over $400 to guarantee a profit. Also, real Ebayers don't bid until the last minute..prices usually go up immensely right at the very end of an aution.

Matt Shomer is the Hotard Hall Director. His phone number is not too hard to find. Be sure to call him real early in the morning.

The Ring Office knows about it, trust me. They know who the real owner of the ring is. Sadly, there is nothing they can do about it, but if you are interested in trying to get some money together to buy this ring and donate it to the Association or something, send an email to aggieftbl@tamu.edu. I'll see if we can get something together, I know some of the Association staff isn't too pleased about it.

Doesn't bother me that much. Like I've said before though, this may be either lost or stolen. It's just strange he just received the ring, now wants to sell it.

It is his ring..let him do as he pleases.
BTW, this is not the first or the last time you will see Aggie rings for sale..they usually show up quite often on EBAY and other places.

As a graduate of A&M '95, you should be ashamed of yourself for selling this. Why did you purchase it in the first place? You shouldn't let anyone who did not earn the ring to have it. It means to much to the rest of us Aggies even if it doesn't to you.

There are people that collect rings.

Honestly, how many people are going to wear the ring tht didn't earn it? Does it mean anything to them? People all the time ask me why I wear my college ring. They're not Aggies and don't and won't understand. Let it go...there are bigger issues to get your panites into a wad about Ags.
