We have way more size, way more speed, way more talent in general. I remember all the "upset alert" headlines before the SMU game last year. We all know how that turned out, even with our most underachieving team in years, maybe ever.

Our secondary is going to play shut down, and our linebackers and DEs will disrupt all night long. Our O line and C-Mike/Malena/Trey will beat the LA Tech defense into submission if our receiving corps doesn't tire them out first.

We're talking about LOUISIANA TECH. They're from the freaking WAC. No team they beat last year had anywhere near the talent and athleticism we have. This game is not even going to be close.

Doesn't matter. We had 32 points of breathing room against SMU, and that was with Sherman letting way off the gas in the second half, and our secondary letting them throw deep on us.

Also, we have way, way, WAY more talent and experience right now than we did against Arkansas State, and better coaching in my opinion. It's not going to be close.

this a&m team can't even be compared to that one. we are significantly more talented at every position. remember how bad that o line was. who did we even have that should have been playing other than mike goodson? seriously, the talent on that team was on par with a sun belt team. the talent on this team is on par with a non lsu bama sec team

I am not overlooking LA Tech. I am looking directly at them and letting them know they are from the WAC, they are inferior to us in every possible way (except QB experience), and we are going to take a figurative dump on their collective chest and make them eat it. Sure they have some good players...for the WAC. They're going to get obliterated.

Time of possession by itself means nothing, if you do not score. I am fine with getting our asses kicked on time of possession as long as we score and score often.

While, TOP does not always signify a win, it is important in controlling the game so A) you're not turning the ball over and B) you're keeping the other offense off the field, limiting their points, and keeping your D fresh. Why do you think 'Bama and LSU do so well with simple offenses? Sure they have great Ds, but they TOP on offense was a huge factor to limiting the other team's points as well. KSU did the same thing last year, they just ate up a majority of the clock last year and won games they normally shouldn't have.

I remember saying this right before we played Arkansas State...

Edit: and I mean the exact phrase. "We are absolutely going to annihilate Arkansas State". Just saying.

Wrong. TOP per drive is nearly perfectedly correlated with third down efficiency and is one of the top correlated statistics with offensive points and team wins.

The difference between LA Tech and Arkansas State is the talent. We are a much better team then we where after the man who destroyed our team left.

boxer - Difference is this year we actually have a team comprised mostly of D1-level football players.

they have more wins against SEC teams in the last 15 years than we do.

Like I said Vander, TOP does not mean you'll win, but it gives you a much better chance of doing so, while playing careful, minimal-turnover football. Of course we need to score, just saying that TOP is important.

I don't normally agree with NAA's posts, but when I do, I like to take credit for the idea and then convince everyone else that he's actually agreeing with me.

Point is, and I've said this for months, we are going to destroy La Tech in the Shreve, and our LSU bretheren are going to be there en masse to celebrate with us. Get yer corndogs ready.
