I don't get how you can say this and yet be so confident it's going to be a dog fight. It's just as likely for us to win by 30 as win in a dog fight. It's more likely for us to win by 30 than it would be to lose, too.

This same team lost to hawaii by 18 last year. They barely beat San Jose St and Idaho(a team we destroyed). Some of you guys are making them out to be more than they really are, an average team at best. Likely below average.

This team doesn't make a bowl game playing our schedule last year. They lose to Ok st, arkie, Baylor, missou, oklahoma, kst, and texas. They might even lose to Iowa St, SMU, and tech. The only sure wins on our schedule for them would have been idaho and kansas.

They literally believe this is their chance to go undefeated this year. BCS bowl invite and everything. I know we've had an over haul to our program, but we have underachieved for so long - it weighs on the mind.

While I agree we 'should' win, those who think this is a sure thing need to lay off the kool-aid. We may end up winning by 50, but to say there is no doubt we will win are just now becoming Aggies/Aggie fans or fail to realize that our QB has less than 10 career passes and our defense was less than stellar last year...

I understand why Sherman was fired and is no longer our coach. We all realize his game day management was poor at best. However poor management or not the 08 team was void of talent. If I remember correctly we did not even scratch pre season top 50. It was an awful team no matter who was the coach. However give credit were credit is due. Sherman could recruit and he left Sumlin a ton of talent. Losing to LA Tech is inexcusable. The 2012 team is a potential top 25 team and for good reason. The 08 team was 4-8 and for good reason, and much of that was poor talent.

I expect A&M to win the La Tech game. Coach Sumlin figured out how to come back from a > 14 point 4th quarter deficit last year against La Tech on the road with a U of Hou team that had a lot less talent on it that the current A&M squad. Never make excuses for Aggie football. The Aggie QB will play within the system. If he's inexperienced, the OC will call more run plays and play-action passes. The Aggies will need to show heart and guts going against LSU and Bama later this year. Against La Tech, all they need to do is executte the coaches plan.

We always have the toughest non-con games. But then again, it feels good being so many teams' "Super Bowl" game.

We will win this one by at least 4 TDs.
Starters will be rested by 3rd Quarter.

It was definitely not as talented as last year's team for sure but it was not void of talent. It had several players that are playing in the NFL.

It was not a good team but it was not so lacking in talent that Sherman should have been able to beat Arkie State at home.

I have faith that this staff will realize that if they need to run the ball to win, they will and not try to force their idealized, built for the NFL, west coast conference dream onto a running team their first year.

Sherman did some things pretty well but his stubbornness in regards to adjusting his coaching philosophy to the college game was insane.

Considering the size of the chip on our shoulder fielding an extremely talented team last year that failed to finish in the end game, mixed with the drive to prove ourselves in a new conference, I don't see any of our games being taken lightly. La Tech should see us as their toughest game, because this squad is ready to bring the pain.

C'mon Aggies! You're in the SEC now. LaTech shouldn't scare you! :inb4lamonroe:

I really get sick of hearing this is a trap game. Sumlin played them last year and has said repeatedly that LA Tech is a good team and that this game is who they are focused on in camp. It would be a trap game if Sumlin didn't know anything about La Tech...guess what...he knows fully. They are not nearly as talented as the aggies. They are not going to "surprise" the Aggies. Quit calling it a trap game...

If the Ags don't win by atleast 5 TDs Sumlin should quit, QB should go the down the river not across the river, The D should realize they won't earn "W-C" title that year, The O should just castrate themselves and smoke pot all day.

37-24 Ags....the Techsters score late. Ahh the wishy-washy'ness. Play a decent mid major and we will probably get beat. Play a good BCS team and we're going to win. I beg of the numbskulls to make sense of this.

Not the team I'd choose to open the season against, and on the road no less. They have more experience playing against Sumlin's scheme than we do executing it.

And any SEC chest-thumping is bogus. The SEC has in no way battle-hardened or toughened this team. A year to two from now, maybe. At this point, we're a few months and 0 games removed from being a middle-of-the-pack B12-2 team.

This is no doubt a winnable game, even one we should win. Then again, the past 5-10 years of Aggie football has been rife with games we should have won. Here's hoping "past performance is no gauarantee of future results."

Yes, indeed, we WILL win....isn't that the mantra we chanted when we played Arkansas State a few years ago at Kyle? And by GOD, THEY won. Do not overlook La Tech.
