I think the reason $Bill has been so worried about improving Olympic facilities is because he knows once he's out it'll be another 30 to 40 years before they get updated again....

$B is spending too much time letting the door hit him in the ass. Bowtie should go ahead and put boot in his backside to help him through the doorway.

The only question that article leaves is whether $B is applying to replace Dodds or Neinas.

I hope we never play tu again in any sport.

Some of you are mighty narrow in your knowledge of Texas A&M Athletics. As far as Athletic Deirectors go in the history of Texas A&M, there is Bill Byrne and then about 100 notches below you would find our 2nd best AD.

"On the other hand, looking at what's going on nationally, I think it was a BRILLIANT move to go to the Southeastern Conference, which screams stability. No one is trying to get out of the Southeastern Conference. That's not true of the current conference we're in."

He's talking about small time regrets about leaving as we all do. But he knows the whole pie yelled get in the SEC ASAP.

He needs to shut his pie-hole. Who wanted to stay in the tu league? What a tool.

Bill Byrne is the best AD A&M has ever had. The only thing that bugs me is that he has no say in the hiring of football coaches and he will likely take the blame if Sumlin fails.

If I recall correctly, Byrne wasn't Sumlin's jogging buddy.

$B is tu-obssessed...going back to his NU days...he hates those people as much as any actual Aggie could...of course I love that about the guy!!

I also love what he has done for the A&M AD...simply remarkable!

Byrne's tone is sorry we couldn't work out differences in Big 12 but excited about SEC. Hoped to continue rivalry and still hopeful we will one day. I think the message is close to perfect.
If the 'Sips ever wanna play us annually again, all of these types of quotes are going to come back around. I still can't believe so many of them come on this site and blame us for the rivalry's ending. However, there are a couple - or at least one - who said it right. Good for him.

I've seen 'em play since way back when
And they've always had the grit.
I've seen 'em lose and I've seen 'em win
But I've never seen 'em quit.

Good riddance. His reliance on the Directors Cup and non-revenue sports will bite him in the ass this year since it is unlikely that we will finish above the top 30

You know how I know you don't know what you are talking about? We are currently in 11th. We have a better chance at being top 10 than outside the top 30. We have strong shots of top 10 finishes in baseball and outdoor track and field for men and women. Women's basekball is already in the top 16 atleast. Both golf teams are ranked in the top 20 as well as both tenis teams. Softball is ranked 21st. Men's basketball is really the only team left that will finish without points.
