He was frighteningly good. He had injury issues. He was a very different back than Darren Lewis. I prefer Lewis' productivity, but the pure flat-out SPEED of a healthy Williams was not something that anybody really knew what to do with. He played well for Oakland, but, again, injuries. Scary good when healthy, but often not healthy.
Darren Lewis was one of my favorite RBs of all time. He was just an a$$ kicker, and he also had great OLines in front of him. Like all backs, he was much better when paired with a decent/good passing game, which, unfortunately, did not happen enough while we cheered for him at A&M, during that period.
I've seen 'em play since way back when
