Be careful with Strong, because his top assistant is none other than Shawn Watson, the erstwhile Nebraska offensive coordinator fired last year, after two dismal offensive years back-to-back. If the Ags think they have QB inconsistency now, just wait until Watson is through with them.
Watson was Bill Callahan's OC, and Bo Pelini made the biggest mistake of his coaching career in retaining him. If the Huskers had any kind of decent offense at all in 2009 and 2010, they would have won both Big 12 championship games (lost 13-12 to Texas, and 23-20 to OU).
I am not sold on Charley Strong. I believe that all of this speculation is for naught anyway -- no way Loftin and Byrne make this move without having a commitment from their man.
