Now that we're in the SEC can we switch back to the non-beveled?

Ringofive,

The bevel highlights don't make sense. There is at least one highlight missing on the inside of the upper left serif. In addition the T is beveled and the A and M are not.

Branding can't even get the bevel highlights correct, yet this logo is splashed across the screen nationwide every Saturday, usually on a dull gray background.

If the Texas A&M brand is important the logo that we send out to every media outlet in the country should be perfect, should it not?




Why can't the logo on our helmet be the primary logo?

I've notices people talking about the bevel on twitter... I don't remember when they changed it... For as long as I can remember growing up it's been beveled, am I wrong?

I like it, but I think athletics should put the star T on everything since we are the ONLY Texas school in the SEC now.

The only non-beveled logo I like is the one on the helmets.

CC Creations has these two flags available with non-bevel T aTm logos. Hopefully they will make t-shirts with these two designs available as well.

I think this is an important question to ask regarding the bevel T logo that a lot of Aggies don't like. Has anyone every refused to buy Aggie merchandise because it didn't have the bevel T logo on it?

Can we finally dump that logo now? No bevel T in the SEC!

Again, not sure I understand why this is a big deal. In fact I think I prefer the bevel.

Jason Cook is on TexAgs radio tomorrow. Maybe he can comment on why the bevel T aTm is still our primary logo. If people in marketing are so in love with the bevel T logo they can make it a secondary logo, but why does it have to be the primary logo that goes out to every media outlet in the country? Can't the traditional aTm on our helmet be the primary logo? I don't think anyone ever went to a t-shirt shop and decided not to buy a shirt because it didn't have the bevel T on it.

Introducing the bevel T logo 10 years ago was like when they changed the formula for Coca-Cola and all of the sudden we had New Coke. People hated New Coke and Coca-Cola was smart enough to bring back Classic Coke and that is still the biggest seller today. For some reason marketing/branding is adamant on sticking with the bevel T as our primary logo even though it is obvious that many Aggies don't like it.

If you review the poll and read the comments on this thread you will see that there are a lot of Aggies that do not like the bevel T logo. This can't be good for merchandise sales when often all you can find is apparel with the bevel T.

I do remember there being a very stupid-looking ATM logo on the astroturf at Kyle, but I can't remember exactly what it looked like. Does anybody have any pictures of that?

No, that's not the one I'm talking about. I'll see if I can find a picture of it. I may be confused.

I remember a block aTm logo at the 50-yard line that was inside a circle and had the colors reversed on each side of the 50. On one side of the 50 the A and half the T was in maroon with a white background. On the other side of the 50 the half of the T and the M was in white with a maroon background. This is what I remember from the astroturf days.

Kyle Field had astroturf from 1969 to 1996.

I think that as A&M goes to the SEC it is a great time to reconsider how we brand and market ourselves. We will get a lot more exposure in the SEC, so now is the time to figure things out as far as our branding.

I think they drink more bourbon than wine in SEC country.
