Kirk wrote a very critical article on the behind the scenes problems that caused tu to suck last year---I am sure Mack doesn't want him in the same room.....but if you ever listen to him, he speaks his mind and in most cases with good sense.

Kirk Bohls has a long history of being so 'objective' that a large section of the Longhorn fan base simply does not like him or his work. It would not surprise me at all if he was treated like any other journalist: professionally and with courtesy but with none of the closeness and confidence that someone with a great relationship would UT would have.

People here tout Billy Liucci as being connected, right? Same idea. Bohls has been on the opposite side enough times to where I have a hard time believing anyone inside Bellmont Hall would think of him as a friend or confidante. At best he would be a means to an end, like releasing information they want out. But good insights into what Dodds or Mack Brown is thinking? Nah.

good god Alex just can't grasp the point.

Bohls is often a jerk, but he hasn't totally sold out his journalistic integrity. No, that's imprecise. Let me try again.

When the horns are doing well, Bohls is a great cheerleader for them. When the opposite is true, his journalistic integrity emerges, and he says so. And he can be quite critical in his assessments of why they are having problems. He can be quite snarky about it too. He's like Skip Bayless.
