A couple weeks ago somebody posted one of these videos of DeLoss speaking at McCombs. Apologies in advance if you've already seen these, but I think they're worth watching.

Interesting for two reasons. First, DeLoss directy states tu's intentions regarding LHN and explains it's beginnings. Second, DeLoss is unfiltered since these were recorded before everything blew up (May or June I believe).

I don't fault tu for creating LHN, good move for them. I do fault them for destabilizing the conference by not being up front about their intentions for the LHN and for using their financial clout to pressure Beebe.

Nothing wrong with tu doing something to help their recruiting. The problem is that they were not up front about their intentions with something (LHN) that clearly affected the rest of the conference. Want proof?

Beebe: Frank. And respectful. But there certainly was -- and I encouraged it -- nobody I think held back from what their feelings were and what their position was.

Look, the one thing that hasn’t gotten out is, especially with the Longhorn Network, how considerate DeLoss Dodds and Texas has been about this. They have said, and it’s made several publications, that they did not want to do anything that was going to create a recruiting advantage or do anything that was going to harm the conference. And DeLoss came to the meetings with that kind of continued attitude about it.

Boy, talk about declaring victory at half time, only to walk back out on field you don't even recognize a month later. Based on this commentary of DeLoss and that little troll/gnome next to him, I wouldn't even know that another school exists in the country, much less Texas.

I feel like the question prompt for these answers must have been; "Now that there are no other colleges or universities left in the lower continental United States and you can wipe your ass across every instituion of higher learning, every conference, and every partner you have ever had...what would you like to tell the world. And before you answer, snort this line of cocaine and slam some whiskey, so you can really let it out."

It's evident to me that DentalFloss thought there was no way the SEC would want us without them...or at the very least, he thought we were so whipped that we would just sit by, nod our heads in admiring approval, and not do anyhthing to better our own position.

I know I'll get hammered for this, but I don't think the disconnect is as blatant as is being portrayed. It is at best disingenuous, though, and event that should be held to account.

I just think it's a bit of a stretch to hold this up as a smoking gun.

Somebody needs to download these videos now before they're removed.

I like how they talk about it being in HD. Besides FiOS, do they have any other provider that is sending out an HD signal?
